WOW! detaljerna är helt magnifika bra att du inte gjorde den i färg, jag tror att det skulle ha förstört mycket. att behålla den i svartvitt gör den mer mystisk och skimmrande. jättebra jobbat!

IT-Hammar In reply to nattsvammel [2011-01-30 21:46:53 +0000 UTC]

Ja, det tror jeg også. Dessuten er det noe deilig ved å skille mellom maleri og tegning på den måten. Farge i maleri og svart/hvitt i tegning.

Wow, thank you so much for featuring me. The article looks great! I have to tell you, though, that this drawing is an ink drawing, and thus does not really belong in that article I do have many other graphite drawings, though. I just thought I should tell you. Glad to see you like my work

This is simply incredible. It starts with the idea itself. It's really something unique and inspired and I like how you did your artist comment on the piece.
The amount of detail everywhere around the main subject is incredible, and all the different ideas that went into it such as the spider web and the gigantic spiders (which look so real they creep me out) and the lizards really gives a lot to look at, so the viewer can look at the image for a really long time and never be bored.
Her pose and expression are also very nice and unusual. I like how she looks like she's flattered by all those things around her.

Really great composition and technique!

I'm especially glad you enjoyed my description. I love words, and I often like to use a play of words, or doule meanings etc. in my work, and so it seems natural to inform about the different meanings of the title, rather than explain the picture itself. If the title is supposed to say most of it, it just depends on the viewer's understanding of the title.
It is also fun how you use the word "flattered". I would have used the exactly same word. Plus, on the other hand she also looks amost breathtaked. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "lizards", though. Where are the lizards?

Mistresselysia In reply to ??? [2009-03-02 21:10:29 +0000 UTC]

This is so wonderfully intricate - a lot of people would be daunted by / get bored with so much detail and would give up half way through (heh, I know I probably would!), and so you really should be commended! I am especially taken with the dragonfly wings - they are absolutely beautifully rendered and really capture just how delicate they are in real life.

I must admit, I saw the 'advanced critique' marker and looked for something that might be improved... but quite frankly, I can't really find anything! This really is sublime work - well done

BlueVagabond In reply to ??? [2009-02-18 23:56:31 +0000 UTC]

I like this one most of your posted. It's beautifully composed, full of detail and darker/lighter areas are definitely more balanced throughout the picture.
I did not see the spider first, it's not pointed out anyway by shading or similar, but I think it's okai, cause the whole picture is yet perfectly balanced.
The webs function in holding the image together and adding something decorative and also to help the viewer orient himself through the detailed fragments of the picture...an object to lead onto and focus the middle of the picture.
But it's empty. You draw the eyes into the middle spot, but its empty.
It is as if something is missing here.
In addition the drapery is managed wonderfully, the textures or shading chosen for stone, hair, skin and wings are without any spot.
Maybe u can add even more detail according to the branches, but I think it's enough and perfect like this.

IT-Hammar In reply to BlueVagabond [2010-07-18 16:23:48 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much for your in-depth comment. I wanted the spiders to be secondary, not what you see when you first glance at the drawing. As if it first looks peaceful and beautiful, and secondly reveals something more dark or frightening. I don't quite understand what you mean about the middle, though. Empty how? Do you mean it is empty because I have chosen not to shade the body as much as the parts around? Please elaborate. I wanted her to look pale and almost shining. Thank you again for your comment!
