There's something so beautiful and wistful about your subjects! They remind me of Art Nouveau posters. Gorgeous!

Ahh, I love Art Nouveu. In the beginning I didn't, for some reason.. but later I have realized that a lot of my work actually looks a lot like it, and I started having another look at it. I love the organic lines in Art Nouveu. Thank you for the wonderful comment, I am glad you enjoyed this drawing.

Hahah, glad you liked it. It took a bit over half a year, but of course not working on it all the time. I have been too lazy with this one, really, but when it finally came together I was quite happy with it.

Well, it is hard to say, really. In hours something between 20 and 50, probably, but with a lot of slacking off in between.. While the whole period of working on it has been lasting since June or July last year. I got a great start on it, then I ran out of ink while on holiday in Italy. I went to all art suppliy stores in the vicinity, and noone had the ink that I had started it out with. So, I had to wait until i got back home and moved to Oslo, where I found the ink, finally. Then I have been working on and off on it for a long time, not quite knowing how I wanted it to look in the end. But then I finally finished it! It was wonderful to close this project and start a new one, even though I have had so much fin doing it

Hey Ingrid,
the details are stunning again. However itΒ΄s not one of your best pieces. You normally do extremly well on drawing people, but this time the face and body looks a bit flat. The rest is brilliant again. No doubt. ItΒ΄s inpressive that you at this young age have found your style already. I like to mess a round a bit more and try things before I fix it.
Good night
Felix
PS IΒ΄m really looking forward to seeing more of your stuff in teh new year 2009. LetΒ΄s see what itΒ΄ll bring.

Hello, Felix.
I guess what you say about the flatness is right. Some of the reason is because I wanted to keep her so much lighter than everything around her, kind of luminous, so I tried to shade her as little as possible. But who knows, it might have worked better with a harsher shading. But that advice I will use for next time, then.
I am glad you like the style of it, truly! I have found something I really enjoy doing, and that is challenging enough for me to do each time. I feel that it is important to challenge yourself all the time, in order to keep the "fun" in it, as well as for the improvement's sake. I think I mess around a lot more in painting than I do in drawing, though.. I like to try different methods of painting, different colours and such. Hopefully some day I will find a way to merge the way I draw with the way I paint, in a good way, and make something awesome
Thank you so much for your comment!

Beautiful in its intricacy and amazing all-around, a wonderfully created piece with a touch of creepiness.
