True, although I have some good reasons to hate mine.
Lets just say they blame me all the time for anything that happens, and sometimes I'm not involved.
Also, they don't let me be myself. Instead, they make me dress what they want me to wear and sign me up for stuff I don't even like, I find it pretty unfair that they let my siblings be themselves. :/

Young people get too worked up over material needs. I think that's the problem, materialistic things are confused with love in parenting since it's considered "essential" for a kid to be decked out in technology these days. My father is the only guy in my life that i can say I actually look up to 100%, mainly because of the fact that he worked his butt off for years to give himself and me a much better life than he had as a child, and he worked the most with me in order to help me overcome some of my own challenges so that now not only do I have the potential for a bright future, I am already down the road of success.

I had alot of shit when I was younger, and I had arguments with my parents. But when we argued, I forget all about it.

Those kinds of kids are why I didn't like telling people about my parents when I was a teenager. They are/were alcoholics, drug addicts, neglectful, selfish, verbally abusive, and in general just had zero confidence in me about anything. I've sort of gotten on better footing with my dad again, but I still have no love for my mom, even now.
But now that I'm well out of the teenager phase of my life, I can finally complain about it without being written off as a bratty kid! Woohoo!

Trust me kids, you have nothing to complain about when your yelled at over grades. Just be glad your parents are in your life. Be glad none of your parents cheated on the other spouse. Be grateful they never dissapeared from your life for more than a day or so. Be damn right grateful they are out of prison and are not abusive period.Β

Glad you do! Children should never feel traumatized when they're disciplined! Mine stillΒ scare me straight and I'm at the ripe age of 25! Parents should definitely scare the bajeebers out of their kids as a way of nurturing them and never fear that doing so will give the kids nightmares!
