Description
Treehugger had always wanted to be a mother, but wasn't particularly interested in having to be in a romantic or sexual relationship just to have a child. She was perfectly happy living life with only platonic love around her, surrounding herself with friends and good vibes only. But when she finally decided to make plans for a child of her own, Treehugger realized how many options she had to consider: surrogates, donors, adoption, the list went on and on. After discussing it with multiple friends, and finding it clear that not all options were available because of her bare necessities lifestyle, her old buddy Zecora offered to be a donor so Treehugger could carry a baby. Treehugger was ecstatic, as she realized that one of the things she wanted most was to experience pregnancy first-hand and bring life into the world. Her pregnancy was filled with crystals, meditating out in nature, only eating the most natural of foods, and plenty of Treehugger's "soothing" auditory therapy. She spent the nearly all of her time sleeping under the stars and surviving on whatever nature could offer, rather than a more conventional way of going through carrying a child. But Treehugger had never been the conventional kind, preferring the "radical" way of doing things, as Discord loved to point out. Seagrass was born in an open field, his mother bringing him to Ponyville once he was able to travel with her. Fluttershy, as always, was worried over her friend's solitary pregnancy, and offered to host Treehugger and Seagrass for as long as they wanted. But she declined, instead returning to travel between towns through Equestria living a minimal lifestyle, this time with a baby in tow. The two only occasionally stayed in communes, but the mare loved the outdoors and being one with nature. Her little son, who developed asthma at a young age, preferred it less. Any time he had trouble breathing, Treehugger would try to heal him holistically, never finding a reason to take him to the doctor to "fill him with chemicals".
When Seagrass was past the toddler stage, Treehugger found the desire to be a mother once more. She went the donor route again, this time simply going to a clinic and having everything randomized. She didn't need to know who the other parent was, so none of that mattered to her. It wasn't long before she was pregnant again, and her hardcore return to nature began again. This time Treehugger and Seagrass stayed close to the coast, travelling anywhere that had sand and sea as far as the eye could see. Seagrass seemed to enjoy this immensely, usually bringing back his mother seashells that he found while wandering about, since Treehugger gave him a large amount of freedom. This pregnancy seemed to pass quicker, considering she already had one foal underfoot. In this round of labor, Treehugger sent her son off to collect flowers, shells, and anything else to keep him preoccupied so he wouldn't worry about her health. Seagrass arrived back to his mother only a few minutes after Herbal Remedy was born, and all he could say was "golly, look at those ears!". Now with two children of her own, Treehugger felt her family was complete, and she was determined to teach her children everything she knew about nature and the world around them, and how to live as independently as possible.
