Personality :
Painstaking (+), Perfectionist (-)
Mothdust has always been a warrior who works thoroughly. She makes sure each task is done correctly and carefully, always putting forth her best efforts. It may be safe to assume her clanmates admire her diligent behavior as it reflects her determination and care. This makes her dependable, as she gives great attention to detail. Often, though, this gives her an unbeatable stubbornness in which she becomes a perfectionist. If her tasks are not done in her ideal image of perfection, she will work until they meet requirement. She often stresses over her perfectionist trait. She has always felt that anything less than the greatest effort will not truly prevail, a mindset reflected from her fiery ambition to be the best warrior of her clan. Perhaps it may some day cause a problem for her, or worse, her clanmates.
Loyal (+), Suspicious (-)
Like any true warrior, Mostdust is loyal. She takes loyalty to the clan very seriously, as she will not befriend a cat from another clan. Her duties are fulfilled with the truest dedication and gold, and she is always ready to lay down her life for ValleyClan if need be. However, because of her unwavering loyalty to the warrior code, Mothdust can be too quick to feel suspicion of a cat who may have broken it, or caused a problem inside the clan. She may never come to trust a cat who has lied to her or betrayed her, especially the clan. She is not very fond of kittypets, half-clanned warriors, or any other cat that was not born of her clan, making her a very unwelcoming and prejudice cat.
Ambitious (+), Impatient (-)
She has strong, burning ambition that helps her strive to meet her goals. As an apprentice, Mothdust was determined to be a great warrior. When her mind is set on an idea, she does not falter from her motives to reach it. She will get what she wants, and depending on the task, when she wants it, and no cat may dare interfere. She does all she can for her clan and is proud to be the warrior she is, however, she has a silent longing to be named deputy some day...before her youth clock quits ticking! Mothdust's impatience claims more victims in her life than greencough has in a million moons. However ambitious or impatient, though, the mottled she-cat would never attempt to achieve her ambitions darkly, only will she be led by her heart and mind. She may act pushy and snappy towards her clanmates when feeling as if her patience has been lost. May StarClan take pity on the apprentices that will have to pick her ticks when she retires.
Cunning (+), Inhibited (-)
This mottled warrior takes pride in her tactical mind. She is clever with her ideas and is usually the problem solver in any difficult situation. No matter how brawny, she aims to use her mind as much as her muscle in battles, proving she is a tactful and tricky fighter. It truly comes in handy when she wants to keep as many scrapes from her coat as possible. Yes, Mothdust can get very finicky and bashful if she is looking a hair out of place. Do not be deceived, for this cat- being a perfectionist as you know already - bothers immensely with her rather wild fur. She believes a warrior can fight with style, both in a cunning sense and a fashionable sense.
Encouraging (+), Abrasive (-)
Mothdust can be encouraging, especially to new apprentices. She has many ideas and loves to share them with younger, interested cats. She cares very much for encouraging apprentices to do the best they can (she finds it easier to influence them in her own favorite way rather than trying to boss around her fellow warriors). Even if they are not hers, she is always willing to pass her skills down to an eager learner. Her patience with apprentices is surprising to some, seeing as she can get quite harsh with most older cats. She cares little for what a cat is feeling in a situation that tests her patience. She can often present herself to be very unpleasant around her clanmates as her abrasive attitude shines. She has a soft understanding for young apprentices, but unfortunately, Mothdust has no sympathy for warriors of which she thinks should know what they are doing.
Outspoken
Mothdust is very outspoken. She is very straightforward and forces her point to be made. She will voice her opinion in anything without biting her tongue or thinking to hesitate. This proves her to be a fearless cat, yes, but it may also cause problems or unwanted drama.
Enigmatic
Many have found Mothdust to be quite unfathomable. They understand her sharp tongue and strong opinions, but besides how temperamental she can be, no cat really knows anything about her. She keeps her past and her true feelings very well reserved. She is far from antisocial, however she would rather refuse to get personal when sharing tongues.
Illiberal
Mothdust is in great favor of obedience to her clan superiors. She is highly against anything outside of the warrior code and does not believe in going against the rules of the clan authority. However troublesome she was as an apprentice, she has since learned that strict loyalty is the assured way to be a great warrior. She objects to any change that is not familiar.
Extras : (Likes , Dislikes, Facts etc. )
Mothdust, however prickly she may seem, loves a harmless challenge or race through the woods. She very much enjoys hunting, and eating her hunted prey just as much. Her hobbies include forcing herself upon the dawn patrol (her favorite time of day), speaking out in protest at gatherings, and sharing tongues with the elders. She strongly dislikes (hates, actually) leaf-bare, birds, deputy Clovereyes, and snoring.
Facts: Mothdust's strong dislike for half-clanned cats and non- clanborn cats comes from her mother, Fawn (dead), who was a loner from a farm that birthed her and Mudleap (dead) out of an affair with Spottedtuft (exiled), who later impregnated a cat from RockClan, giving Mothdust a half-sister. This sister was brought into ValleyClan as a kit by the mother, suggesting she would grow stronger with her father, unknowing that he would soon be exiled for his second betrayal. Mothdust is not very fond of her half-sister, Oakthicket, because of this situation.
Mothdust ridiculously dislikes Clovereyes for being a former kittypet. She often imagines herself being in his place, and quite frankly, doing a better job.
The mottled warrior is agitated by snoring noise, and so she enters the warriors den to sleep before most others to avoid being kept awake by some fat tom's snoring. It is the reason she is awake and lively enough for the dawn patrol. It may also be that she is not as useful at night as most other warriors are, due to many of her whiskers being singed off during a fire incident when she was newly apprenticed.
History :
Mothkit was birthed by Fawn, a cat unknown to the four clans. She claimed to live on a nearby farm, and captured the heart of a ValleyClan warrior named Spottedtuft. During her pregnancy, she fell victim to illness caused by poisoned rats, in which she spread to her newborn kits, despite her hardest efforts. Spottedtuft found her lifeless body a few days after their birth, and after her burial, retrieved the kits and brought them into ValleyClan. The clan was shocked by the situation, however put the kits in the paws of their medicine cat, in which he did all he could to keep them from slipping away. He was able to help Mothkit pull through, but little could be done for Mudkit, who then shortly passed away. Mothkit was raised by a nursery queen as well as her father, who did all he could to spoil her rotten with play moss, the plumpest prey, and pre-training. By the time she was 4 moons, she learned the truth of her mother, and her father's disloyalty, from a sour elder when she scampered into the dens to pester them. Although dismayed, she did not feel anger. Mothkit was determined to prove to her clan that even though she was not necessarily clanborn, she could be a great and loyal warrior. Before she knew it, she was 6 moons old.
Mothpaw was a pawful of an apprentice. She was pampered like a kittypet in her kithood, in which sprouted an unpleasantly proud and demanding attitude. Runningcloud was a patient and noble warrior, given to her as a mentor under the belief that he could appease her fiery spirit. As their polar opposite personalities clashed often, the two formed a close bond. During a dry day in green-leaf, the two stumbled upon a wild fire while in pursuit of a rabbit. Mothpaw refused to give up the chase and found herself frightened stiff inside a log at the sight of the fire. As the log was beginning to be engulfed by flames, Runningcloud dashed inside and hauled her away, the two barely escaping alive with minor damage. Mothpaw lost a few whiskers, while Runningcloud was unfit for warrior duties for many days while recovering his smoky lungs. Mothpaw was taken out for training with the deputy and their apprentice, in which she decided that she, too, would be clan deputy some day. After Runningcloud's recovery, the two cats trained hard, until he decided that she was ready for her warrior ceremony at last.
Mothdust became a warrior earlier than most, due to the tension building from StreamClan's threats. The leader of ValleyClan needed more warriors as there were many kits ready for apprenticeship. The clan was flourishing, fortunately, and because it was flourishing, it was very busy - too busy to notice small uncertainties. Mothdust was on patrol with Spottedtuft when they encountered a she-cat from RockClan that had stepped a mouse-length over the border while chasing prey. She should have suspected the admiring glint in her father's eyes, the same glint that flashed whenever he spoke of her mother, Fawn. It was many seasons later, but the truth was at last exposed, that her father could simply not remain loyal. The RockClan she-cat had placed a single kit in the entrance of ValleyClan's camp, urging Spottedtuft to take the result of their treacherous romance, and raise it to be a ValleyClan warrior. Outraged by his mistake, merely a mirror of his past mistake, the clan threw away their trust in him and threatened exile. Although the leader allowed him and the mistake of a kit to remain in the clan, it was not many moons longer when Spottedtuft abandoned the clan one early, misty morning. The only cat to see him leave was Mothdust, and she did not plead for him to stay. She only watched in hatred, and the hatred still burns when she sees her half-sister, who has now become a warrior, and any other result of a broken warrior code.
The exodus of the clan cats from their former homes was anything but a simple choice. Mothdust made her choice to follow her leader to whatever StarClan has mapped out for them out there. She hopes that this new beginning for the clans will offer her a new beginning as well, a beginning where she can live down her dishonorable kin and do all she can to be the warrior she's always aspired to be.
Roleplay examples : (Scenery, action + thought, knowledge of skill, etc..)
The sunlight was beginning to bloom. The hanging dark of the night was slowly edging away, surrendering to the coming morning as the eastern sky illuminated with lavender. The forest beyond the moors was waking as the gentle bird songs echoed across the slight, morning breeze. The blossoms and weeds swayed in unison, slowly dancing to and fro, flicking across a cat's nose until it stirred.
The sleepy creature drew a paw across its mottled face, waking with a low, drowsy grumble, before rolling over to expose a grass riddled belly to the gradually brightening sky. The air was crisp, as it usually was these mornings following the ending of leaf-bare, and the blossoming of a bright newleaf. The cat opened her jaws in a mighty yawn, bending her back and sticking out two paws forward to stretch upon her rise from the grassy nest. She was Mothdust, a warrior of ValleyClan -- or whatever was left of it. She and her fellow clanmates have been among the open wilderness for some days since the exiting of their former territory. Glancing around with exhausted amber eyes, the warrior noticed a few other cats already awake, stationed around the sleeping bunch as sentries. They appeared sluggish and listless, their heads hanging below their jutting shoulders as they sagged with tiresome. It was abundantly clear that no cat had gotten a reasonable amount of sleep in the past few days. Even Mothdust herself felt drained of energy after awakening. Her somber gaze flickered to the skies that swirled with purple and orange, disturbed only by three large birds that soared ominously above, circling the bunch. They looked to be restless, as if they expected the exhausted clan to drop dead or scatter at any moment, giving them the chance to swoop down and claim the bodies. A muffled growling indicated to the mottled she-cat that the birds were not the only animals who needed to eat.
Mothdust prodded awake a few warriors with her paw, hissing the need for a hunting party with irritation through gritted teeth. If they didn't get up and make themselves active soon, something ought to come along and make crowfood of them all. The party stalked a field away to an area with high grass, slinking through it and listening carefully for the scuttling of swift rabbit paws, or the crumpling of dead grass in a hurrying mouse's path. The urgent hunger clawing at her belly made concentration and patience difficult, but at last, the early breeze carried the scent of a nearby squirrel. Her paws carried her smoothly and stealthily through the golden field, her spotted coat blending with the dirt below, which was moist from a previous storm. To her fortune, the scent of rain still lingered in the growth and masked her own as she lousily began to move downwind. Mothdust approached the squirrel -- who was occupied in digging up the loose soil in a depserate search for its lost supply -- and flattened herself down, her tail low yet uncontrollably twitchy as she wriggled impatiently, preparing to spring and sink her teeth into the juicy treat before her...
