Kaede's a strange girl, she's very old-school, as in, she'd fit quite well in the 1800's old-school. She's like a modern samurai (swords included!), focused on being honourable and having discipline, though in the latter, she doesn't have that much socially. She's got 3 swords which she usually carries around, a Nodachi, and 2 Katanas, and she's damn good at using them. Enough so that she's one of the best in the region. Her childhood... Was a sad one, however. She lost her family at a young age due to a rivalry between her parents and a few Yakuza, which explains the scar on her eye and chest. She vowed to find out and get revenge, but came pre-occupied with protecting Fortuna from some bullies.

As mentioned just before, Kaede protects Fortuna, she did back in high school when she saw her get bullied a lot, and knew that she was weak and unable to defend herself. Her protection went so far, that she even got the same job as her so that she can be by her side! She also trains with Nozomi, and despite their technological difference, Kaede's that good to be an equal to her! However, she's rivals with Sayo, as Kaede finds her "Lazy and insufferable at times". That is to say, they can still work together if needed.

She’s got a strong passion for swordplay, and knows a fair few fighting styles, though she’s most skilled with 2 Katanas at once In addition (and so that she can use her Nodachi), she like to work out a fair bit. She can’t stand it when her friends and herself are being messed with, I.E. a prank by Akane.
