yeah...iΒ΄ve seen....i know i donΒ΄t have to tell you, but youΒ΄re amazing, really! IΒ΄m taking my university exam this summer in game development and 2d graphics for games, and people like you are what really motivates me! no matter how good you get you can always find someone whoΒ΄s better, and i take that as a challange, you just wait!^_^anyways, your anatomy is flawless, you really have a fanatstic way of rendering muscles and textures, as well as movement...do you usually start with a greyscale and color that with color/multiply layer, or do you actually use color when drawing?

Hahaha, thanks for the nice comments.
I often do start with a greyscale and color it, but what I do differently is I take the grayscale to about 70 percent complete, then colorize it, then finish the remaining 30 percent in opaque color and value. Β It works great!

I think that's kinda where I'm sitting on them too. I also dug Hecotonchires, as sort of a tragic, fucked up, monster thing.

I saw the developer vid about this guy. I really like how you guys take weird mishmash creatures of mythology and make them look REAL.

It lacks the human face that I think really defines a manticore's creepiness. But all the same, I just *adore* the way the reptilian, arachnid and mammalian traits all synch up into one prickly, nasty whole. The tail looks like a natural extension of the rest of the body, despite belonging to an entirely different phylum of animal as the rest.
That gaping, glowing maw is also a great touch. Gives it, if anything, a touch of shark.
It's not really how I imagine a manticore, but it's a stunning creation all its own.
