Finally! Finally got this pic up! 9_9This is the Starscream costume I made for A-kon 14(2003). Actually I barely finished it in time. Completed it just enough to wear around the convention about 2 hours before the Saturday night Masquerade. *phew* Its basically a bunch of assorted junk(craft foam, cardboard, foam core board and uphostery foam) covered in spandex fabric with lots and lots of hot glue holding it together.

Do you happen to have any sort of Work in Progress Photos or video of this Costume being made? I've seen many photos of this over the years but all were from around 2009. But I've yet to see how it was made.

To this very day I've never seen a Starscream Cosplay that looks even close to being this good.
Did you base it off of the Heroes Of Cybertron - Starscream PVC figure? It looks remarkably close to it:Β www.transformerland.com/wiki/tβ¦

Love this Costume, would live to have something like this but as a Devastator I love this art style that has been implemented, shame I'm Australian as I would live something like this for PAX 2015 in late October/November.
Do you have a tutorial on how to go about this depending on who you choose as your model/design?

It is a shiny red thin spandex fabric. It is actually the reverse side of the same fabric I used for the torso pieces.
At the fabric store, I held up different fabrics to my eyes to make sure I could see through it. A spandex like I used is really hard to find, I just lucked out. I would really suggest trying a red foil lamΓ© fabric. I tend to use that type of fabric very often for character eyes. It comes in many colors, is paintable, and easy to see through.

Wow...a costume made from a spandex-covered frame? That came out pretty well. Nice job on the details, especially with the wings, head, and torso. Was it hard to move around in?
