Capcom is pretty infamous for letting some of its most iconic characters drop into the abyss... nowhere is this more true than the Resident Evil franchise, where even legendary characters such as Barry Burton haven’t even been mentioned (plot wise) since the end of the 90’s, only ever being dredged up for mini games.
But it’s nice to see that an old face managed to climb out of the void and into the light of Resident Evil 6.

That was great (and accurate, too). Though it looks like the hole will be getting more crowded when they throw down the "Operation Raccoon City" people, too. Eh, they can just put them with the "Outbreak" characters.

That character graveyard also needs Mikhail Victor (Carlos Oliviera's U.B.C.S. Squad Leader) and Rodrigo Juan Ravall (The guy who let Claire out of the Prison on Rockfort Island)

They're in there somewhere, but they're not the focus of the comic so it's not necessary to show the whole graveyard in this addition.

Yeah but on second thought I heard a claim of Mikhail being brought back as a human Anti-B.O.W. in a future RE game that's just a rumor a friend told me it wouldn't be bad to see him make a second appearance but I just don't want Capcom to ruin him like they did Chris and partially Carlos or make him like a spinoff of how Alice was Cloned back to life in the live action movies

Mikhail was one of my favorite characters, though I think it'd cheapen his sacrifice in RE3 if they brought him back, and lets be honest we can't really trust the current developers at capcom to do the series any justice these days.

Yeah as much as I'd like to see Carlos and Claire again I'm also afraid of what they might do to both of them also you misspelled the name of the company as "Capcom" you forgot the 'R' in Crapcom they'll suffer the same fate as umbrella if they continue to degenerate the Resident Evil Series...

Claire hasn't been seen long since the last time Carlos Nicholai or HUNK appeared either Code Veronica took place the same year 1998 just a few months after Raccoon City so technically she's still in a plot hole too

Technically... but she was in Degeneration (which is canon) and that kind of wrapped her role in the plot of the games, so she hasn't just been forgotten about like the rest of the characters in the plot hole.

Yeah and Technically Carlos Oliveira is in more then one game like with Claire but as far as just the games go Carlos and Claire's additional games are pretty much all recaps of RE2 RE3 and Code Veronica what I want to see is an RE game that has both of them in it after the events of Raccoon City and Code Veronica

Well since they kind of wrapped up Claire story post Raccoon City and Code Veronica in the film, i doubt we'll see her much again and Capcom seems to have completely ignored Carlos which is a shame.

Indeed it wasn't even the same president from Resident Evil 4, just some retconed character we're supposed to believe Leon was friends with, it's just silly. Honestly I could talk all day about the things that bothered me in that game.
But it makes amusing comic material.

I'm so happy to meet someone else who sees Resident Evil 6 for what it really is, story wise at least.

I think it's every 4 years, but narrative-wise there could have been a way round it. The writing is just plain lazy, everything about the game is lazy really.
It is sad that Resident Evil has fallen so far, I'm with you on being put off the series altogether, Resident Evil 7 will have to preeeeetty special to shine through my pessimism.

For me to ever consider getting the next Resident Evil game...it either has to be a remake of RE2 (But completely faithful to the original) or be done in true survival horror style. And not that fucking lazy ass attempt they did with Revelations

It seems we are of one mind with regards to this franchise, Revelations was indeed a pale attempt to appease those wishing for a return to survival horror.
I would only accept a remake of Resident Evil 2 if it was done in the same fashion as the GameCube Remake of the original. (still one of my favorite games)
Alas Capcom's greed will most like prevent them from making the new games more niche (survival horror).
But only time will tell.

With the critiques about RE6....I'd hope Capcom would consider trying to rethink how they're doing shit. But last I heard, the producer for RE6 basically responded to the critism with "Sometimes the fans don't know what they're talking about so we're not going to listen to you"

That sounds about right, the way they poor scorn on their classic franchises like this is quite astounding.
I think they lost their way when the decided to stop making game people wanted to play and started making games they thought would make them the most money.
The success of shooty manly man games like Call of Duty have rather poisoned the market I fear.

It is quite unfortunate that they care more about money rather than oh I dunno....retaining their individuality.
If we wanted a generic shooter we'd look at other companies who already do that on a regular basis. Capcom should attempt to do what got them fans in the first place. Not try to be like everyone else.
I mean do they even care anymore...look what they're letting happen to Devil May Cry. It's just a tragedy, really.

Alas Capcom has seen all the obscene profits companies like EA and Activation make and has rather naively said to themselves;
"Why don't we make that kind of money?"
And thus the hegemony of their franchises began, but if you try to please everyone you'll invariably end up pleasing nobody (Resident evil 6 is a perfect example), that's something a lot of game developers, not just Capcom seem to be losing sight of.
When I hear the words "more accessible" coming from developers lips it usually means things are about to go down hill for that franchise.

Exactly. I think Rev did that too. Trying to appeal to both shooter fans and survival horror fans.
Yet I think only shooter fans were actually satisfied. RE6 literally wants everyone in the world to like it. "Well it has everything! So it will make the most money in the world EVER!"
Sadly it actually does make money but doesn't mean it's good.
