Page # 6 on my mermaid drawing guide.

This one deals with coloration. Aside from what it says on the page, you can use just about any color for your mermaid's hair, eyes, skin, scales, and fins. However, if you are going to give your mermaids some ethnic diversity, here's what I reccomend.

For mermaids that live in atlantic/artic waters: For skin use light, pale shades of yellow, green, gray, and blue, or dark shades of green, blues, gray, or purple. For scales and fins, use aquatic shades of green, yellow, blue, purple, or gray.

For mermaids that live in fresh water or termperate waters: Use normal skin tones, for the tails stick with the colorations for that like the ones for the northern mermaids.

For mermaids that live in tropical waters: Use very vibrant colors. Anything like purple, orange, red, yellow, fuschia, etc. For skin anything from light tan, to dark skin.
