Description
This piece comes from the Warhammer 40K "Curse of the Wulfen" book just recently released. Outer Space settings are always tricky. How do you create depth in space when there's no atmosphere? Well, ultimately you just have to fudge it.Related content

In the name of the God-Emperor, commence Exterminatus

Actually they just burn the planet so Imperium can still make Mine-/Forge-World. Blow up the planet is a Faillbadon thing.

Seems an obvious solution.

When there are Imperial ships. A planet destroyed. No other words, it's Exterminatus.

Pretty sure the inhabitants of the planet might have had some other words for it. "OH S***!!!" maybe.

Thats a Battlebarge, i dont think it has the firepower to do Exterminatus. Only the Imperial Navy has the Battleships and the ordnance to commit it.
Although you may be correct judging by the shroom.

No problem, I'm happy your art was on my front page, instead of my little pony, overwatch and scantily clad women lol.

All I can say is I would not want to be on that planet.

This feels really ironic given the fact that Prospero was bombed 10k years ago due to chaos deception too. Except the charges were sorcery not furries. Magnus must be laughing really hard right now.

Was Prospero a planet controlled by the Imperium?

WAS, being an subject matter, the planet was world that became the home of Magnus the Red, Primarch of the XVth legion, the Thousand Sons. The world was destroyed during the Horus Heresy by Leman Russ and the VIth legion, the Space Wolves. On charge of sorcery, which was technically true, since it is the 15th legion's specialty. But Russ was tricked by Horus, the Warmaster, and Arch-traitor. Who told Russ that the Emperor wanted Magnus dead, and since Russ would never question the emperor, he went and essentially sacked the planet. Magnus and the Thousand Son are plotting their revenge to this day. But given the novel The Curse of the Wulffen, this is no longer needed, as the Wolves would have to face an ironic death by exterminatus soon.

Oh wow haha. I had no idea of the irony. Thanks for the explanation! Your knowledge of the lore is much more vast than mine!

Is that a Vengeance or an Avenger Class Grand Cruiser just under the Battlebarge?
