Description
Now this is something I'm SUPER pumped about. Star Wars was such an inspiration to me as a kid and I remember thinking time and time again "I wish I could do Star Wars art!". Well, whaddaya know. I get to do Star Wars art! Fantasy Flight Games is releasing their new Star Wars living card game soon and a couple of my cards were spoiled at the previews at GenCon. The first card I did for the game was none other than Darth Vader. I'm really humbled that my art director felt comfortable enough giving me the task to create art for the most badass sci-fi villain of all time. Rarely do we get to see Vader dealing with rebel scum in such a direct way, so I'm sure you can imagine how giddy I was when I got the initial prompt.Image Β©Lucasfilm, LTD and Fantasy Flight Games

Wow... you really drew an art that inspired a scene in a future movie? Now that's an achievement.
Also, the severed armΒ Β

Hahaha thanks! Probably won't ever know if it actually inspired it at all (I'm sure there's plenty of us out there who'd been waiting to see just this type of scene). But it was certainly a dream come true to see it up on the screen!
And I'm pretty sure Vader keeps a collection of hands on his wall in his castle. Maybe that'll be the subject for a future painting haha.

Oh god. If you make such a painting, it will be amazing, funny... and also terrifying and very very darkΒ Β

Oh man, this is so beautiful, heβs my favorite villain!

The art was originally created for a Star Wars card game before Disney bought Lucasfilm. I have no idea whether or not it inspired that scene in Rogue One at all, but either way it was one of the most magical things I ever saw on the big screen haha.

Yes, it was excellent. Especially that epic cameo in the end. (I dare not mention it as I might spoil it for people) It's a shame that it didn't do well at the box office. Star Wars fans are never happy.Β

That describes exactly how I feel about The Last Jedi, even more so. Star Wars have a notorious habit of complaining about everything new. It really gets a bit much.

I was one of the few that came out with a middling opinion of TLJ, neither loving it nor hating it. Itβs a mixed bag of pros and cons.

I'm glad that you don't hate it like everybody else does. I am so sick and tired of so many Star Wars fans complaining about TLJ and going on about this utter nonsense about it needing a "remake." As I really enjoyed it both times I watched it.Β

There are things I would definitely have done differently if I could...whereas other things, I think are fine as is.
