Absolutely amazing. Your works are freaking photo-realistic, dude. I also like the little detail of the ring on the Count's finger... makes him look a little more "regal."Β

Fantastic work on Count Dooku. It's been so long ever since I watched the first six films.

One day, before I die (as to not set too tight a schedule), I strive to understand the green in human skin tone half as well as you do.
Well done.

Thank you!
Fun fact: there actually is no green in the colors of his skin. The colors that read greenish are actually a greyish-yellow or greyish-orange. They appear more green because of the redder tones of the light areas of his skin. Grey next to red will feel more green and grey next to green will feel more red!

It is good to hear you understand exactly what I mean. I only learned about this phenomenon a couple of weeks ago.
Colour theory needs to be called something more engaging so young students understand immediately that it is useful.

Hmmm....I'm not sure what else you'd call it. Color Applications? That sounds just as boring haha.
But if you're interested in realist painting, James Gurney's "Color and Light" book is absolutely fantastic. It doesn't get too much into the nitty gritty color theory stuff, but provides a lot of information about how color and light are perceived and how you can incorporate them into your painting. Highly recommended!

Maybe "tiger attack survival" or something. Obviously not a serious proposal, but it must sound so there can be no doubt it is useful.
Then again, art students should always be ready to think in metaphor...
Like my solid black contrasts far too much for full on realism, but yes, come to learn much about colour application from Gurney - if admittedly grudingly. Though we have never met, Gurney and I have a history of love and hate; and one I have no doubt many share for the exact same reason.
Nothing betrays the trust of an 8 year old child quite so brutally as showing a Protoceratops and Triceratops realistically rendered together.
