One of my favorite Star Wars characters. His Maximum Firepower ability is OP in Empire at War and Forces of Corruption

"Target. Maximum Firepower."
I think this is his most defining scene. This is what he is - one hell of a soldier.

I think it's probably the only scene he's in where he's giving commands and not just taking them from the Vadester.

Smart, ruthless, brave, and doesn't give a damn about politics--all that matters is completing the mission.
A true man of the Empire.

Veers rules. Now his actor is Grand Maester Pycelle in Game of Thrones.

Veers dies twice in the SW universe. First in a deleted unfinished scene a Rebel Snowspeeder kamikazes into the "head" of hisΒ AT-AT. Second he dies in the no longer canon EU at the battle of Balmora.

Always thought of him as a Rommel like character in the series.

Completely.Β I very dearly equate the two.

There were some hints of it, he led from the front and was an honest commander in his service but also seemed too have a strong sense of honour.
Then we both probably (I do at lest) have family who'd not let a bad word of him around then so we would!

This is the reason you don't put a giant reactor above ground.
(The snow would actually be a half-decent cooling system underground)

and you work for lucasfilm?Β

JakeMurray In reply to NBrownPhotography [2014-09-03 21:29:34 +0000 UTC]
No, I'm a self employed illustrator. This was a piece done for a card game licensed by Lucasfilm. So it's technically "official" Star Wars art (i.e. Lucasfilm owns it), but not commissioned directly by them.

oh interesting. Does that go for other artists who did other card art? Also, I'm curious where you? I'm out here in Northern California, near Sacramento. I'm looking for work as I'm a photographer. my work is on my blogΒ nicolasbrownphotography.blogspβ¦
might you be able to help me out?

JakeMurray In reply to NBrownPhotography [2014-09-05 13:19:45 +0000 UTC]
Yeah that goes for most any artist working on a licensed Star Wars product. Unfortunately, I'm in Ohio and don't know the first thing about the photography market. Sorry!

NBrownPhotography In reply to JakeMurray [2014-09-05 17:40:04 +0000 UTC]
no worries. If you're in Ohio, how did you get contracted for this project? this and other pieces I'm seeing by other artists are MINDBLOWING. These moments in Star Wars are captured so excellentlyΒ

JakeMurray In reply to NBrownPhotography [2014-09-09 12:56:52 +0000 UTC]
I get contracted via the company that actually produces the licensed products - in this case Fantasy Flight Games. They have a few licensed Star Wars game properties that they call on many freelance artists to create art for.
