Description
Trying my hand at video game art assets! This is a personal concept for a 2D side-scrolling adventure puzzle game. Heavily inspired by games like "Myst" and its sequel, "Riven," the goal here is to entice the player to explore, while at the same time presenting them with small pieces to the puzzle at hand.Head over to my official site to see a video of how this scene might look animated in-game with its parallaxing layers.

Oh man, weren't they the best? When I think about my childhood, I think about how long I begged my parents to get Windows 95 so I could play Riven. That game blew my freakin' mind and still looks amazing.

Yeah! Me, my mom and her husband used to play this way back, we'd take turns or sat together, day and night, trying to figure the puzzles out. Such fond memories!

I'm convinced that, if it weren't for a guide, my friend and I never would have figured out the marble dome puzzle in Riven. That thing is brutal haha.
