Description The old school is printing up some DVD's of my student film. I drew this for the cover.

You can watch the film here:

Studying animation was fun, y'all. No regrets.

Ooh I love when I like something so much that it makes me want to start a whole new collection.

This is great!

Gorgeous film, and cover also. Were you inspired by the indie game "Journey" by any chance? I get a Journey/spirited away vibe. Makes me want to try out animation. Again, excellent work man.

The cover is lovely, but WOW, the short film itself is exceptional. I know the art styles were far different, but I was reminded of Miyazaki films. Great work.

Hans Van Harken on youtube has a kind of similar style of animation. There's also a game on Kickstarter called Hyper Light Drifter that has art direction that really reminds me of your style. I think you would like those if you haven't heard of them already!

Thanks, man! Β I love (and backed) Hyper Light Drifter, but I wasn't familiar with Hans's work!

Your quite welcome! Hans is rather silly, but his use of color reminded me of your stuff. And also~ All hail the pixelated glory that is Hyper light Drifter!

really, you are extraordinary xD I wont to read one of your comics ^ ^ as soon as possible! Then, I would like to ask you how I could exploit to the best, my ideas ... I have few means xD but it's my passion > __ < and the thing that I regret, is that I can not express myself, how I wish ....

JakeWyatt In reply to MAXmydog [2013-08-24 05:32:27 +0000 UTC]

Hey thanks again! I think using what skills/means you have at the time to make what you can is the best way to move ahead. Β I don't show anyone my first comics (they are embarrassing), and I tried to make two different films (and failed both times) before I made Metro.

What's your first language?

I speak Italian xD I'm 18 years
but I have not had the opportunity to attend an art school ... in fact I have many discrepancies xD
hahaha anyway all the early comics are a little ''embarrassing''

I would love to learn to make animations.

I studied animation at BYU, but mostly taught myself Flash and Photoshop, which are the programs I used to make the film.

WOW! That was really beautiful! It kinda had a spirited away feel to me, the timid girl who hesitates a lot and is not quite sure about things and gets pushed around but then gets braver and fights for what she wants as she steps into this amazing new world. It was amazing :] and everything was so beautifully drawn especially that last part with the sun!

Oh, thank you miss! Spirited Away is just one of the greatest things that ever happened to me, and that comparison makes me so happy! Back when I was in high school it came in our local movie theater in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, for all of one week. I went to go see it it every day that it played.

That's a good question... I just put it up online here: [link]

But Kelly is probably your best chance for a DVD. I had a couple, but we just moved to LA and they're all packed up.
