Your work is crazy, sir, I loved your style. You have quite a background in Yoshitaka Amano and Gustav Klimt, huh? Look a lot like the great stuff of them. Anyways, your work is superb quality and I really liked it. Hope you don't mind having one more watcher!

Hey, thank you! I do love both Amano and Klimt, yes. Glad it shows up in my work!

The variety of colours and patterns you've managed to work into this is brilliant; there's so much going on but it doesn't look crammed in with the use of slightly transparent areas of colour and the distribution of detail. The characters and designs are fascinating

I love your work! These saturated colors, this roughness in a sketch, as at old masters, and your mad imagination.

Your style is crazy awesome!

Do you sketch first and then scan it to the computer or you make it digital right from the beginning?

Also, I don't know if you have a background on art or not, but do you know what kind of media you could use to achieve a color and texture like those on your art (would it be watercolour, colored pencils, etc.)

ALSO, your Theseus art is godly amazing, really!

You, sir, are VERY good, finding you on deviantart made my day. Congrats on the DD, you deserved it!

JakeWyatt In reply to DancingLizard [2012-04-18 16:38:31 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, sir!

I'm going to try to answer all of those questions:

1. I draw in pencil and powdered graphite, scan the drawing into Photoshop, and add color there.

2. I have sort of a background in art-- I went to animation school.

3. I use scanned watercolor and powdered graphite textures on my work in PS, so that would definitely help get those textures in real media. Oil paint with charcoal on top of it will help get those colors in real media.

Thanks for being so nice and interested!

-Jake
