Description
And now, the most requested tutorial, the Fur tutorial.Fur is either really complex, or really simple, depending on what you're trying to do with it. I find this technique seems to work with whatever kind of fur I need to paint. (Skipping steps for more simple stuff, adding steps for more complex stuff).
Just remember that it *is* very important to study animal structure. Fur cannot hide poor anatomy skills, so it's very important to brush up on that. You could make really stunning, fabulous fur, but if your anatomy is off, it'll make it look as if your fur is off too. Also remember that fur flows on the body in certain patterns, so study that too!

You can do it a few different ways. I'd suggest creating a separate color layer, and then mess with the layer modes of both fur layer and color layer until you find one you like. One of the easier ones to try is to set the fur layer to Overlay and have the color layer under it set to normal. That's what I did in the above tutorial.
