Free pack of Emote cursors for your dA journal. Feel free to use them wherever and however you see fit.They are split into 3 sub-packs with CSS info for each one. This CSS only works in Firefox on the Windows OS. The files are already uploaded, so all you have to do is copy the text info for the cursors you want and paste it into the CSS section of your journal.
I have also provided the psd file...in case you want to create your own emoticons for it.
Please note that these cursors are png files. They are only intended for use in your journals. If you'd like to use them elsewhere, you will more than likely have to convert them to cursor files.

Are you using Firefox? If so, which cursor are you trying to use? I'll load it in my journal and see what's going on.

Yup, I'm using Firefox. I've been trying to use the pink ones from Pack 2, I also tried to use the pink ones from the first pack. Perhaps I'm not doing something right when copying the code? I highlighted both codes to have one for the body and one for the link. Are there any changes to be made to the code?

I'm not sure what is going on. When I load your CSS into my journal, it is showing up fine. If I had to guess, I'd say that since you're using a journal "skin", the CSS from the skin is superseding anything that you manually enter into the CSS section.
Since I don't have any actual experience with dA's automated journal skin process, the only thing I can recommend is trying it with a journal design where you have to manually add in the CSS rather than an actual skin.

Hmm, I was using the message center by ยขnyssi which was manual and it still wouldn't work. Maybe I'll play around with some of my firefox addons. Maybe Stylish or Greasemonkey or Ad Block Pro are playing with it...thanks again

I know the cursor code is buggy as hell on dA for some reason. I have all 3 of those add-ons as well, but something obviously doesn't like it. Sorry that it isn't working for you!

I have a question! What exactly do these things do? Are they personal mouse cursors for journals or? Sorry I'm just stupid =3

You're exactly right. They are just cursors to use in your journal...in case you want to get away from the basic white cursor.

I used one from pack 1 and 2.
I am having a problem however... it was working fine when I tested it, but then when I put my codes in, which work fine, the hover one is gone...

The hover cursor on your journal is showing up for me (Firefox 3 on Windows XP). It isn't the most stable code from what I've seen. Some links have no effect on it, but most do. Try hovering over numerous links to see if it ever comes up.

*nods* It does only on Avatars and Usernames, as well as the bottom links, but other links that I put in don't work.

Equally as interesting is the fact that I can take the a link: part and move it below body and now the second one works and not the first.

If you just want to use one cursor throughout, copy/paste this into your CSS:
body {
cursor:url("IMAGELINKHERE"), pointer;
}
Upload your png file to an image hosting site and place the link inside the quotes.
If you want to use a different cursor for when it hovers over links, add this to the CSS as well:
a:link {
cursor:url("IMAGELINKHERE"), pointer;
}
The code doesn't work for every browser. It's had the best luck in Firefox.

I am trying to use the second type of emote in pack two, but I cannot find the code for it in the CSS info. The first type only shows up. Not sure if I'm just seeing it wrong or what.

There should be a text file inside each of the pack folders and that will have the CSS information. If you can't find it/don't see it, let me know what color you want to use and I can post the code here.

Hello! I've been wondering how these cursors work, I've seen them in a handful of journals! When I inserted the CSS into my journal, the cursor I set to normal works but the cursor I set to when you hover over a link does not. Do you know of any reason why this would be?

I've found that the code isn't completely foolproof...works for some and not for others.
I just tested it on your journal (nice cursor btw!) and it worked on every link for me (using Firefox 2.0.0.12 on XP).
