I'm a complete alien nerd, I think it's a fantastic concept, and halo shares alot of elements with the alien vs predator concept, alien is just more intense.

Yeah! All I remember about Alien that some mining team discovers anomaly and they are sent to investigate it and then they find the eggs and all that nasty stuff begins. Roughly like that eh?

yeah, pretty much the sequence the whole series follows.
Personally my favorites were 'aliens' (second movie) and 'alien resurrection' (fourth movie) number one and three weren't so great.
but geez I loved those movies as a kid!!!

it really saddens me that that reaction to alien life is the most probable from the human race.
I really enjoyed the concept and movie, but the main character really really annoyed me :S

But the funniest thing was that when the humans shot with human weaponry I was like
But when the aliens shot with their masterblasters and when Wikus was operating the mech I was like

yeah, towards the end you couldn't help but sympathise, but shit he was an annoying prick at the start.
but the mech was AWESOME.

Actually, since laser/plasma sword weapons (such as lightsabers, plasma swords, beam sabers, energy swords, and the like) cauterize as they cut, that could at least partially negate the alien's acid blood. Not to mention the superheated plasma his weapons fire.

thats exactly what I was thinking as I was drawing, the plasma sword would be an incredibly effective weapons against the alien because, well, it don't melt!

haha! yeah, I think there are so many paralells between the two story lines, so in this image the elite is the predator equivilant just as the alien is the flood equivilant

hehe - well... the predator would use the Sangheili as prey yehknow? probably be the best match for them in terms of 'fighting' them - both warrior races hehe... though... i'de believe the sangheili would lose against a predator. - But as for aliens they are alot worse than the flood in my opinion :> would tear the sangheili into peices

I just love that crossover and you did a pretty good paintjob on the Alien and the nest structures. You're inspiring me to draw and write again some more Halo AVP crossovers, hehe.

say... on my laptop/cintiq while I was drawing this the colours looked great, but then at work with my super awesome monitor the amount of pink is making me gag, is it just my work monitor, or is it a serious problem?
I'll have to look into the halo/AVP crossover, theres just so many paralells between the two story lines.

Hm no, I don't think so. I'd rather say you could have put more pink/purple into the colour of the walls and the floor since on my laptop that colour looks more like a slightly brownish magenta. It's not that it looks bad though it's a bit less colourful than the usual interiors of Covenant vessels and stuff I saw but still awesome. Must be your work monitor who lets it all look extremely pink and flippy.
Indeed. Besides of some colonisation/space travel dates on the human side the francises would fit perfectly together. Maybe because Bungie took 'some inspiration' from the movies like the Apone clone Johnson and the Pelican just to say two of the most noticeable examples.

I may have gone to another extreme, but the pink was waaaay to out there before.
Yeah, I can see the inspiration, and they could work well together, but the games/movies have completely different 'feels'.
The alien concept can be genuinely terrifying, and I think that is fantastic, but halo doesn't scare me, it's just cool!

Aliens was the last movie who made me shit my pants around ten years ago and that was awesome. I just love the movies. Sadly Halo wasn't scary though there would have been the possibility to make the parts with the Flood scary but they where only at the beginning and got boring after a while since they just run straight forward into your shotgun... How the Aliens attacked and evaded in the last AVP game, that was way more scary.
Would be a hell of a ride to have the coolness of Halo and the creepy dark atmosphere of Aliens united in one game. At least I would buy it just to fight one of those monster Xenos hatched from an Elite who would totally kick each Elite's and Spartan's ass as long as they have no sword but even then Xenos are pretty good close combattands, making them dangerous even when attacking lonely from behind, lurking in the shadows
