Description
The layer of small stones in the foreground that someone before me has collected and placed neatly atop a larger rock are a good example of gneiss (pronounced 'nice') rock in the Muskoka and Georgian Bay area.Β You could call them the "roots" of a mountain range that would have been similar in scale to the Himalayas and this is all that remains after over a billion years of erosion.Β©James Hackland

Interesting sunsets and sunrises don't happen often (at least not where I live) but when they do it makes them even more special. Thanks.
