No, I have hiked this trail twice before so I had some locations to shoot already picked out. But most of my locations including this one I would scout out after I found my spot to camp for the night.

That is magical indeed.
Perhaps I would have liked to see a bit more of the trunk's reflection but maybe that is just me
Must have been a great morning.

Yes I think it would have been interesting to see more reflection as well, I have many other compositions of the same scene but none of them were as strong as this one.
It really was amazing I have never experienced a morning quite like that before and those were the best conditions I got during the 7 day trip.

Oh come on Juha give me some credit here.....lol. I was not only camping but I was also carrying probably the 100 pounds of camping gear and camera equipment for the whole 7 days too. Seriously it is a very difficult hiking trail too and I wasn't sure wheyher or not I was going to make it but I persevered and finished the 100+km trail.

Yep, I just wanted to know
That is amazing, my longest hike is 75km with all camera and camping gear.

This was my third time doing the hike and I think I may have to do it again one day.
Well 75km isn't shabby at all....How long did you spend doing it?

I think that it took me 4 days, 3 nights that is.

I think I traveled to far each day on that trip and found that I barely had enough energy and time to to scout a location and then shoot in the evening and a couple days I missed out. I think a less rigorous schedule is in order for me next trip.

You are right and that is a problem if you are not familiar with the area.
Now I know that path I hiked and I can plan the locations and etappes better for the next time.
