Description
A fantastic storm approaches the Pic du Midi d'Ossau in the French Pyrenees, one of the top climbing peaks in Europe. A really memorable day which highlighted just how unpredictable mountain weather can be.One of my favourite places in the world to climb, so many good routes and memories.

This is stunning! I thought a shot like this would only be possible via photoshop but wow! So nice to know it exists in nature. This is the perfect shot of an incoming storm and made all the more better by the mountains. Superb! Wonderful job catching this great scene at just the right moment. Thank you.

Catching a strike of lightning is rare, congratulations! You were lucky this time!
This is a beautiful place; I've been climbing it several times, always with pleasure. In your photography, we can see a great storm is coming, indeed! The sky almost looks frightening...
This recalls me one time I climbed it, long ago with family friends: it had started to rain half an hour before we arrived at the lake; after a brief stop, enough for us to put up the tents and somehow have dinner, the rain resumed, this time very strong (even torrential). It lasted almost all night, I even wondered if the lake wouldn't overflow.

wow. weather, grass, rocks, snow, water.. about the only thing that hasn't made it into this photo is a tree! Amazing landscape - despite the cold and dark weather, this somehow looks like an inviting place.

Don't know what to write about this image that overwhelms me, in order I am an alpinist too... No one can ever wonder how magic mountain is, and how you become one with nature, just in case you reach the top respectfully...

Great photograph! I love the composition, how at first glance I saw the forefront landscape then the mountains, and to my surprise as I love lightening (I have been enchanted since childhood) I see the bolts of light shooting down.
