06/08/13 - Marmolada, Dolomites, Italy.I've been trying to get the milky way in with the Marmolada (one of my favourite peaks in the area) for some time. A beautiful clear evening with a new moon ensured it was visible. One of those evenings that sat under a 3343m peak looking up at the stars you feel suitably small.

You can see the milky way in a very dark place, especially with a new moon. The contrast has been slightly improved in this photo, bet yes, you can see it with the naked eye.
