OMG LIEK DISSIDIA 2 RYTE.
I was hoping that Lightning would have a secret counterpart and that it would secretly be Fang, but I don't think that'll happen. She's the lone FFXIII character in the game so far?
Anyway, I thought that either Chaos or Cosmos could use Ragnarok on their team to win the fucking never ending bullshit battle they're making me hate.
I've also discovered a few fics that share this theory! So I thought I'd put an image to all of it and never have to think of it again.
(PS - Lightning has let Fang win in the hope that, once she returns for another Cosmos fucking battle cycle, Fang will remember her and she won't have to die. None of this power trumps speed shit in MY pictures.)

Amazing drawing!! I too wished that Fang was a secret character in 012, but of course SE dashed my hopes... I also agree that Lightning seems more the type to be more in charge compared to Fang if they were together. Hopefully they decide to not discontinue the dissidia series and add more FFXIII characters in (just Fang really lol)

Um, it is probably not Pre-FFXIII. I assume the Dissidia story takes place long after all the FF games are concluded.
The goddess Cosmos has enough power to revive dead people an infinite number of times, so I'm guessing she can probably bestow L'Cie powers back to Lightning even after the end of FFXIII.

Same. I immediately thought of it when Lightning was announced as a character for Dissidia 012. I guess it's not meant to be outside of fanart and fanfics for now, though.
I can KIND of get why they'd pick Cid. Lightning and Fang were never really against one another, since they were both Pulse L'Cie. Also Cid is the only sort of 'person' shaped enemy that the L'Cie face in the game. And I imagine sticking Barthandelus in Dissidia as a regular villain character would be a bit ridiculous. xD

Who knows, maybe Square will listen to the fans and fit Fang in, Cosmos or Chaos. As long as I get to play as her I'll be happy.

I have been loving this game! And I agree, a Fang character would have been badass. Even if they just make her assist only DLC like Aerith, it would be awesome. But instead they made Light be on her own in pre-FFXIII mode.

Well, I don't think it is. Theoretically speaking, it can't be or she wouldn't have magic. But her personality is pre-FF XIII, which is stupid. If I had to guess, canonically, it would be post FF XIII, after the webnovel when she decides to wander off on her own to find a way to save/release Fang and Vanille.
Her in game personality for Dissidia is still disappointing though.
