Saw and loled at the E3 FFXIII-2 trailer thing. Not sure whether I should laugh or cry or light fires for how... interesting it looks?Apparently, Sgt. Lightning Farron is MIA presumed dead?
Naturally, something must be done about this. Something wide reaching and able to touch the hearts of many. Something like a milk carton with a picture of a missing girl on the side.
How tragic, really.

you're right i have a feeling this will suck without the old characters i really want hope to be in it though. even though i haven't played the game (obviously lol) i think noel is a good character it feels so wrong like if he's hitting on Serah. i really don't like Noel's voice or appearance . but, who knows? maybe he's cool but if there's no old character then the game will suck

Also, some people are saying based on the Episode i novella that was released in Japan that she wanted to help save Fang and Vanille, and something (maybe the fal-Cie Etro) pulled her into darkness. I assume that she got out of that darkness and into a world of myth that Etro and other fal-Cie who created humanity and Cocoon reside.

I was so disappointed when I heard that it will be mainly about her story
I expected that serah will fight too in FF13-2 and that there would be new characters of course but I would have never thought that lightnings would be more or less only the backgroundstory :c
I hoped that we could play lights story and maybe see fang and vanille again

Yeah, it is a bit disappointing, but I guess most fans were pissed that Serah wasn't playable in the first game. Oh well. lol too bad for the rest of us, I suppose.

Before I go into a mini and calm tirade with my opinion of the new game, I must say this is quite adorable and a cute deviation, and that picture of Lightning is really very gorgeous, I do so love your lines c:
I hate to say...I was so disappointed with the FFXIII-2 trailer.
I was excited back when we just had that short teaser that showed off Lightning in all her badass new Valkyrie-fashion glory, but instead, we get a whiny sad Serah and no explanation where Hope or Snow are, and a new guy people are already calling Serah's new boyfriend.
I'm not upset per say that they made a new character, okay, I really don't get at all why they had to do that, but I am quite miffed seeing that we're probably going to be playing a split story that seems to favor Serah's side, and I'm sure they're wanting it to be an emotional journey we'll travel with Serah while she cries about the unexplained "death" of her sister who is actually off kicking ass on Odin somewhere, and we're "going to be touched and connect with Serah on a level of blah blah blah"
I didn't spend 50+ hours with the old gang just to get the sequel and have to focus on a new character entirely and a weakish character who is probably trying to get those who like moe. The saddest thing is, even with my complaints, I'm going to buy this game, and even if I dislike it, I'm going to play through till the end because I like the original game, I love Lightning, I still want to hold onto the hope we'll see the FFXIII boys, I really want to hold onto the hope that we'll find a super happy ending where Fang and Vanille are taken from crystal stasis, and you gotta admit, the game is gorgeous, even the characters you don't like. I may wait a few months to get it after it comes out to save money, though. Much as I love FFXIII, I got it for my birthday in April last year, and it was like, thirty bucks cheaper by Christmas with all the sales going on. Not fair, man.

I've yet to decide how I feel about the trailers. I didn't really think FFXIII needed a sequel. I mean, as much as I enjoyed playing excessively, it did have a pretty weak or disjointed storyline. It wasn't really well received by fans, either. I don't think a sequel featuring scantily clad weaklings will fix that. (For me, anyway. lol)
It just looks like Square Enix has gone back into their 'tried and true' formula for this game.
Pretty boy main character, useless moe girl to back him up, throw in some cool/familiar side characters to support them when times get tough, and you have every other FF game ever made.
I'm sort of hoping that badassery runs in the Farron family and Serah will turn out to be strong in battle. (Unlikely?!)
Don't like the new guy already. He seems like a cocky cock and that's never really endeared me to other characters in the past. I'm sort of surprised they've thrown in a few new people? Especially someone who looks to be from Pulse?
I also hope they've left out the rest of the original crew just for the trailers so it's somewhat of a surprise when we see Snow or something.
Sadly, I don't really feel like they'll give out any closure with the Fang and Vanille business. Again, I hope I'm wrong about this.

Lightning ran away to find Fang and Vanille since no one wanted to help her. She found them, never came home so everyone just thinks she's dead.

Perhaps Lightning knew this sequel was gonna suck, so she faked her own death? I mean there's no sign of Fang in it either, and instead we get a guy who kinda looks like Fang, and even dresses in the same colors, but who is totally not Fang and therefore totally lame.
My theory? Fang awoke from crystal stasis, kidnapped Lightning, and they had their wicked way with each other happily ever after. And there you have it: the happiest ending ever!

-Sigh- And I here I was kinda excited about the prospect of a sequel. Now my naive yet unlikely hope that Lightning will free Fang and Vanille crystalisation to have hot smex with Fang has puffed into smoke, the amount of Lightning arse-kickery is thoroughly limited and even the cute dynamic of Snow x Serah appears to have been ripped out by the jugular. WTF, Square Enix, WTF? T~T
However, the thought of Lightning's stern face next to a "Got Milk?" slogan makes me lol, so thanks for this.

I dont know if I was ever looking forward to the sequel. I'm not even sure how I felt about the original game at times. xD
That said, I'm sure I'll still play it. -_-
