With the Omega Regime being form steadily in a slow pace, Shao Kahn was automatically conscripted to join Darkseid. And by extension, whatever allies he has placed. Meaning by proxy, Shang Tsung joined the Omega Regime as well, and was sent to Apokolips, it is there he was met by the chief torturer Desaad. Both are depraved to the core, and have done unspeakable horrors in the name of their respective masters. In essence, this alliance was something that proved fruitful to both Desaad and Shang Tsung. The question of how long this alliance will last, has yet to be determined.
