While preparing for her new role as part of the Direct Master Comics line, as an atagonist for the upcoming Nightraider Series, Cat-Ra had spent hours discussing with crew on where the character came from, and the world he inhabits, which is a city state located in America, where its almost totalitarian, and more reflective of what America is dangerously becoming. One of the key factors of Nightraider is that he was inspired by the character of Judge Dredd. Which is a character that is scarecly known in America, aside from the Karl Urban film. So when Cat-Ra read a few 2000AD Comics, focusing on Dredd, that range from Complete Case Files, and the Essential Judge Dredd books, she learned that Dredd is a guy not to wreckened with. And when discussing on what her character would be like, it would be a rivalry a kin to to Slade and Robin was to Teen Titans, with the roles reversed as Cat-Ra who plays the Crimson Tigress (a chimera Promethean assassin). They have a sudo messed up father daughter dynamic. Nightraider may be vengeful, but has a moral code like Batman and Dredd.

On the day of shooting, Cat-Ra did try out in a scene where she did a fight scene with Dredd. To get her ready for the character. And when she saw the character, she saw how towering he was as this figure of uncompromising justice, and how he rigid with the application of the law. In her notes, Cat-Ra writes "If I had to fight him back in 2018, chances are high I wouldn't have survived. Judge Dredd is that ruthless. Best case scenario, I would've wound up in an Iso-Cube, otherwise the sentence was death."
