Why did you take a photo of your son supposedly crying? Instead of consoling him, you take advantage of things? I can't imagine that any parent would be that big an asshole as to exploit feelings of distress in their own offspring.

I don't understand what people are going on about in this.
You bluntly state that art deals with pure emotions. Which is true. If it was staged, it wouldn't hold the pure meaning of it.
It just this photo, you can tell so many different emotions. Sadness, anger, frustration, stress, aggression, and a bit of denial. (my opinion) 
When I saw this, I didn't immediately think "Oh poor thing.." I actually remembered how my brother slid and cracked his head open on the corner of a wall. He didn't even realize it until he saw the blood on the wall. He looked just like this...but of course with blood coming out of his head.
And the reason it happened was because he was sliding around the tile floor with socks on. When my mom had told him not to do that. He paid the price for not listening.
This shows pure raw emotion and no one has the right to flame you for this.

Okay, um. How DARE you lead your child to believe that things are hopeless, like the description here is implying? You are his FATHER! Your JOB as his PARENT is to show him that things can and will get better. I don't believe this is entirely real, but I'll humor you. Let's say he really IS crying because Daddy lost his special job. Kids at his age ARE NOT DEVELOPED ENOUGH to understand the situation without having experienced it before or having it explained to them. And if he had experienced it before, he'd have the knowlege, "Hey, things worked out! Things will get better again Daddy." You had to have explained it to him in great detail to make him so upset... And WHY would you even do that? As a parent, you should know that younger children are extremely sensitive and easily scared. Why would you purposely do that to your kid?
And as other people have mentioned, why did you take a picture of this? Where are his parents comforting him in this picture? I see only him. There is no way I can accept that you would allow you child to cry like this without trying to help him in some way.
