What kind of acid do you use to bring out the pattern, also what kind of steel. I use mild and high carbon, but i don't get that contrast

Im using ferrikloridi, after that i clean the surface and polish it with abrasive paper 1000 or 1500. Steels are mild and carbon in my knives also.

Thanks. There are that usual softer steel, some old sawmill cutter and in the middle there is carbon steel C 0.8%
