Interesting method of sandcasting! I havent tried it this way, i usually pour from the side, but i havent been able to have details come out like this. Great job!

Thanks. I have always done it like this, and the results have been pretty succesful. But i dont know would there be any difference when pouring on side or top. If the canal is wide and long enough there should be no difference i think.

I could be having issues with pitting and other things because i only had old sand to use... Perhaps it was contaminated or lacked moisture. I will have to continue experimenting with casting. Anyway,keep up the great work!

Thanks. I melt the bronze in crucible, which I place in the forge. When bronze is melted, I hold the crucible with tongs and pour bronze in to the mold.
