I've been sitting on this one for over a year and a half!!! Finally got permission to post it.The book: Star Wars Art: Visions
I am UBER-honored and frankly kind of in SHOCK to be included in this book, even if it's just the limited edition version. (the normal version doesn't have my piece in it)
This thing is HUGE. I'm in a book with freakin' H. R. Giger and Sid Mead for cryin' out loud!
along with other art gods like Amano, Allan R. You shouldn't be so shocked. I've been watching you for as long as I've been on DA and you are consistently one of the best, most creative artists I've ever seen. My framed print of "we played our souls" is still one of my favorite pieces on my walls, and my friend's framed print of "my fabulous MicroMoog" - same thing. Well deserved, nice to see you breaking out!

Anyway, I absolutely love the brushwork here. I also really like that background work, with all those odd squares of differing lighter/darker shades- how did you do that?

I wish I could fav this more than just once. This is so BRILLIANT and SICK!!! I love it!!! I hear the Chemical Bros when I look at this. You totally deserve to be in that book.

Clever. This works so well. They should remake "A New Hope" where THIS is what happens. This could lead to the inevitable West Side Story-style shanking of Obi Wan within the given hip-hop context.

how can i put this...everything regarding star wars has been done, or so i thought. i don't have a new opinion about star wars mind you. i'm just surprised how a subject so played out as star wars can suddenly find new life in this both humerous and well worked painting. i'm particularly fond of the red smudge on the cardboard that may have come from some empire company stamp or could be the blood of some upstart clone vader served his ass to. you can almost hear that storm trooper on the right say "daaaamn!" or "oh snap, son". buffalo stance vader...really brilliant.
