Description Despite this only taking me two days, I feel like there's a whole lot that went wrong with this sheet, and it just irks me to no end. I just... I messed up quite a bit with this one.

First, I forgot his sword. No kidding, I literally referenced back to the original sketch (when he hadn't gotten his sword yet) and I began to draw the pose with the hammer, and then I left it and went to bed. I woke up today and almost introduced the face to the desk when I realised I had lined his head and shoulders and forgotten his massive sword. I redrew the pose, and thankfully didn't have to scrap the whole thing and do it again. Thankfully, I was spared from having to draw the sword, details and all, twice, because it was already there.

Then it was sizing problems. I think I ended up drawing Kazi's full body a bit larger than I did Elise and Rand, somehow (which I don't know how it's possible because I measure heads by the width of my fingers) or it might have been his Idiot Hair sticking up that took up a bit more space? It made things a tight squeeze. Finally, I think I was too impatient. I kept on trying to erase pencil lines when the ink hadn't fully dried yet and kept smudging the paper. I feel so bad about that too because I had to go over it with correction fluid multiple times and I was afraid it would ruin the paper. Aaargh.

Thankfully, the sheet turned out alright. I notice again that I've never drawn Kazi from the front, only from a profile view from the other side, so I'm glad with how this one turned out. I'm still kind of disappointed in myself because I feel like all this mess could have been avoided if I'd just, y'know, checked the other picture I've already drawn of his Keeper form to remind myself that he has the sword now. Welp, too late to change that. It's still better than it could have turned out, to be totally honest.

Also, the next one in the lineup (totally randomised this time) is Gerome. I hope it's going to be less problematic this time...

Really sorry about the crazy sword

Oh, no no! Don't be sorry! It gave me a chance to have a little creative break with him, since I didn't want to repeat the pattern in the reference picture you gave. It was very fun to draw it after messing everything out, and .assuring everything out was also quite an experience.

At least I got lazy and didn’t go all out with my original armor idea: full on fantasy samurai gear with a mask and all the crazy pieces you see in modern media.

A part of me is very glad you didn't, haha. It would have been a pain to detail without going over or under. I'm stretching the edges of my own capability with the armour I'm drawing as it is, and I can guarantee that there are glaring issues with it to an actual expert.

Sweet work. The runes in Knight script is a nice touch, and good practice. Did I ever describe what the Knight script looks like? I forget if I did or not.

I don't think so, but it was loosely inspired by old Asian writing anyway, to match what we have going on with Elise being able to read it and the original Keepers being of Asian origin.

Ah. I see. Nice detail on that one.

Since there are nine characters there and I never wrote anything definitive down, I'm just going to say the inscription translates to 'Iris Halo', with the extra character being a space. It's like an encoded message of sorts, maybe.

Neato. Way to go. If we ever get someone who can work with made languages, we could probably make an alphabet with this.

I'm also considering whether to make it a standard alphabet or making it a phonetic language like Chinese, Japanese and Korean are. It would explain why Elise has an easier time reading it.

I kinda like phonetic. Having delved in both types of languages, phonetic feels more fluid, and more fun to speak. This coming from someone who is practicing Japanese.

Coming from someone whose first language is Chinese, it's kind of a pain, but I can see where you're coming from. The only problem with phonetics is that you get a lot of homophones, and that complicates thing because then we'll need a hanzi/kanji system and those can run into the... 20Ks with the word count at the very least.

Fair point. I suppose an alphabet system is better in the long run. It's be like the Bionicle script, in that certain symbols represent a letter and such.

That's the next project after this, haha.
