thanks! its easy to draw an action scene with some crazy looking demon character doing action scene stuff, but I wanted this guy to have a certain kind of thoughtful intelligence, a soulful quality. The best demons are creatures that remind us of ourselves

Abaddon is, among other things, sometimes called the Lord of Locusts. The more you plumb the depths of this kind of character lore, the more interesting visual ideas you can find, especially with demons and devil myths. These guys have so many different cultural origins, and ideas and stories that formed them, and its a lot of fun to try to integrate those ideas visually, rather then just draw a dude with bat wings and horns, lol.

Sure thing! I've been a fan of your work for a long time (still love those GoT pieces) so seeing you put those skills to work on a project original to you is a treat. I'm looking forward to seeing how it progresses.
Are you familiar at all with Sideshow's Court of the Dead line? There are some similarities between that and Mausolea that I think would interest you.

he leads a large host of demons, several legions in fact, and has a lot of background suggesting he is a lord of war and violence, so I wanted him to have a regal, military general kind of look.
