I haven't browsed the comments, but I would guess she was being considered "black" because true black is hard to shade or show any detailing on, so dark, desaturated blue-grays may be used to represent black. I wouldn't have thought her "very clearly blue" either, but assumed she was dark gray.

The thing is...on my screen and when I draw her she is very clearly blue. Not bright blue but a grey-blue gotten on the darker end of the color spectrum.
And it annoys me since it's also clear she is not black or grey since there is color in her coat, plus she had black marking on her face that contrast against it. Had she been black or a black variant that wouldn't happen.

I think the issue is the saturation. Perhaps it looks more saturated on your computer, but depending on your personal computer's settings (usually the gamma) it may not look to you like it does to other people. And if a lot of people are seeing gray or "almost black" when you are seeing "clearly blue", there is either an issue of perception (which can't be fixed) or setting issues. If you have access to another computer that you haven't adjusted yourself (like a friend's or something) perhaps you could have a look at it again at that alternate location to determine if there is a drastic difference between your working computer and someone else's settings causing the discrepancy.

I don't draw on this computer.
I have a process that involved me using three different devices that use the internet.
My phone, my mothers computer I use for art, and my laptop which I use to edit final details.
In all three cases all the colors look the same. I have used my sisters computer and those of my school too. They look the same to me.
But as I stated she is not true blue. But a deep grey blue. But getting black out of it, is the impossible for me.
I have also asked friends and family -some of which who are very talented artists who make a living off it unlike me- all say she is dark blue. Only when people come to purposefully hate on my OC they say it's black. To which I respond with much the same I am now.
I only get so defensive and upset since I personally despise red and black characters since they are so overused and often not done well. Plus I don't understand why they see black while most see blue. I could get seeing grey but not black.

So it is largely a matter of perceptions, as I said she looked more gray than blue to me because of the desaturation of her coat. I had to scroll back up several times to see it as anything other than dark gray, but I also use a gray-based userstyle on deviantART that may be bleeding out her color for me even more, which would be a "settings on my end" issue if so. I have seen instances of color a few shades darker and just a little more desaturated than your character being used as a near black for the purpose of retaining details, but usually not quite as light as the color you used. I can understand getting frustrated if your character is getting plastered with a bias because of misinterpretations between what colors you perceive and what colors other perceive.
Her base coat actually reminded me of Princess Luna at first glance, and the magenta-purple gradient on her mane is pretty cool.Β

It's possible and I wouldn't doubt it. I do have a higher end laptop myself and have the brightness high.

I have entire rants based on this. Her coat is blue grey not black and her hair is actually in no way red but an off pink you get from mixing a pale red and purple.

It kind of does because she is not black and she is not red and I hate being told she is. On my color chart I use to get my colors it is very clearly blue and a dark pink variation.
And no pony creator was used in her design at all in this incarnation of my OC.

The "Haunting Grace" part was a joke because on the sketch a watcher of mine kept bothering me about the title which I just thought sounded good at the time.

Indeed it was.
Theres the actual ruins above and there are large mines below. During the war the mined deeper to live there and those left still do. Rider being a well known hero from that battle was easily accepted back and she was able to coax the spirits out of hiding do to not fearing them. She has basically been their ruler since.
