Also tried to make her armor / jewelery a bit more...decorative. Not sure if I nailed it or not. I sort of regret making the jewels black however.

When your old work looks like shit compared to what you do now...I am fully entitled to hate it.
I have a ton of icons. None I love more than any other. I just rotate them out regularly for something new every once in awhile. My go to being my licky icon.
I am using my trotter right now because my friend and I have a joined set and she finally is able to use hers.

First off that's sexist and rude....I'm a girl who has both male and female gendered OCs to represent herself.
There's nothing wrong with liking a ponysona / OC if the owner who it represents is male or female and it's the opposite gender. Your not saying you like ME your saying you like the CHARACTER.

"If not she then he, else where affirmed" is a good start line to simplify things, that one does not forge all upon forced 'gender norms' but rather take people as per who they present themselves as and on what they Do.
So, on such a question the nature being is one Male Female or Neither? and What they view themselves as if 'undecided/unknown'. Being transgen do they id as either or perchance even neither?
Mater of fact, "Adventure Time" might yet take that argument further with its Game Boue person/character.

And again as said, if A) the character is separate to begin with / B) you know their gender as apart from the OC/Avatar their is nothing to it.
It does in the end really just come down to those 'subconscious nods/assumptions' we all too often make to say 'if a then b'. Nothing is meant by it, or from ascertaining more info when provided.
A user 'Octavia-Wolf' has an Octi' avatar (female & rather cute) though from pic on profile is a dude.
(as is his OC) Nothing wrong with that, though had to take small step back to self to separate my feelings for the Character Tavi as a separate mater from the person sharing her image.
So yeah, nothing sexist or rude (at least intended) and like said "not that it matters".
A person's avatar is their choice and while choice is a question of reflection of ones self, to what extent is also choice. *we just tend to over-associate OC/avatars with their owners /as/ their owners and so when one is cute (like the trotter as of the time of this post) one often doesn't feel the same if the owner turns out to not 'match' *lulz. Or maybe I just overthink things?

Plus OCs can be any gender and not represent the person they belong to. My favorite character and icon is of my stallion Onyx.
