Inturpritation of a gothic style unicorn. I hate the new-age kind of unicorns, big white horse with a horn... that's SO a 20th century perversion of the mythology. Unicorns historically represented a lot of things including sodomy, death, distruction, wickedness, and the vices. They weren't always smiles and sunshine.So, in honor of that long and sometimes dark history. Here's a black Uni'. My desperate attempt to break the mental and creative block I've been suffering for the last two weeks.

I have to admit, I love the pic, but knew little of Unicorns origins. Though, I guessed that they had been perverted by modern society, lol. Like so many other myths. Thanks for the info! ^_^ Either way, the pic is lovely, good job!

Absolutely love it. I've always hated white-hose-unicorns with their grey noses & thick legs.... This also reminds me a bit of American McGee's Cheshire.

I love this so much! I was just lamenting myself on the bastardized "White girly unicorn" that is all over media these days and how that isn't what a unicorn is to me. I did my own unicorn too, butI really like yours!

that's sweet. I totally agree about history of the unicorn, that's why I tend to like the black one's better. i love the way that it's a "real" unicorn and not all horse. Awesome job!
