Its a shame Mighty Mouse cant get a reboot. His property rights are split up amongst rival corporate entities, so I'm told. Caps right about him needing a good lawyer.

I don't get it, neither Mighty Mouse or Captain America are Disney characters so why mention them.

You realize Disney owns Marvel, which owns Captain America, right? That's that's the gag.

Wow. Wrong on both counts. Disney bought Marvel in 2009. And Captain America is a Marvel property.

Paul Terry is probably the most forgotten cartoon maker from the classic era.

And it still makes me giggle. You're just having oodles of fun with colours on Photoshop aren't you sir?

I'm wondering how many people nowadays even remember Mighty Mouse.

Interesting.
I was thinking of this very piece today and didn't know why, well now I know.
Love the textured look in the back, reminds me of a mixture of canvas and sunset, like the work is slowly fading the line between the presence of art in the real and simply on a two dimensional plane.
I also find the dialogue very humorous, I did enjoy Mighty Mouse growing up while Cap has always been a Marvel figure I could enjoy but not as many as others, I like the over-exaggerated size of the chests and yet the arms come to rather small hands, overall it is a rather blunt way of showing strength but also very much akin to your style of drawing characters Jay.
You are not the only artist to use severely large muscles for characters but the shapes by which you use are far more interesting than the at times grotesque protrusion of muscle that Ed McGuiness draws.
Keep it up.

Thanks, James! I'm continually experimenting with digital coloring. In this piece, I used a more "art sponge' style brush for the clouds, coupled with an airbrush for the darker cloud bottoms. I do my shadow and highlight on separate layers, and then go in with a blur tool and blur those layers down to soften the effects. I then did an overlay atop all the color layers of a yellow and distressed piece of paper, and brought the opacity down on that to get this textured effect.

Very well done, fantastic.
If you had not told me I would have imagined you'd done the work on canvas or perhaps scanned
in some canvas and applied it as the background.
I am really happy to see you returning to past works and using your new and improved skills.
I hope to see more like this in the future
So...get back to work! Kidding
Take it easy, are you buried in snow? We are

We've have a brief reprieve from the snow for the most part, though it's impressive to see how tall people's yards have gotten from it when I walk by on a newly shoveled sidewalk.

It was coming down in clumps last night but worse the previous night it rained so we had ice freezing beneath the snow and fusing it to the surface of everything making shoveling first this morning a great hassle.
Glad to hear you are not buried alive.
I would hate to learn you had a scenario like "Alive" in your own home
Although, in a frozen wasteland, could be worse, could be a "Thing" situation...do you own a flamethrower, chainsaw, grenade-launcher or any weapons for killing parasitic aliens?

No, but my stomach occasionally opens up with sharp teeth and bites people's arms off. Should I be concerned?

Not at all, my left hand does something very similar and I find myself often eating my colleagues and turning into them.
I saw a doctor...but then I became him and diagnosed myself perfectly fine
