Description
The New Mutants was one of my favorite comics during my peak comic book reading years (1986-1990), and I was itching to draw a tribute to them. I realize there's a few from the team here whom I've omitted (one of 'em died, and a couple joined on after I quit reading). But the ones I've included here are represented in my favorite issue of New Mutants, "The New Mutants Giant Sized Annual #3." Check it out if you can still find it. one of my favourite old books! i'm just sad you didn't include Amara or Xian because i would have loved to see your take on them! Magik was always one of my faves and i'm so glad to see her as she is often left out!

Wonderful. I love the old Blevins New Mutant stuff before Liefeld had his turn at the book. Of course, he made it profitable but I prefer the old group here. Thanks for posting this!

Wow. The old days, when I really loved this comic because of the interesting characters (with surprisingly tortured backgrounds)! Back before... well, you know what happened. I think I finally screamed and threw the comic at the wall round about Genosha.
It's nice to see the gang done right and get the good memories.

The core team - thank you. This is the team I read until it stopped being enjoyable. (I even read it through the Sienkiewicz "sneeze through his brushes" period!) I always figured that if there was one power of that team that I wanted, it was Doug's. I always thought his was just the frickin' COOLEST power in the world.

Aw, I had the biggest crush on Wolfsbane during the whole X-cutioner's song arc. It's a shame we don't see more of Warlock these days.

Let's see... you've got Doug Ramsey (Cypher), Roberto (Sunspot), Warlock (I missed him when he was killed off!), Sam Guthrie (Cannonball), Illyana Rasputin (Magik) Rahne (Wolfsbane) and Danielle Moonstar! Yep, a good representation of the best NM team!

I heard he died...alot of people I used to read about died and more recently the frickin House of M and relatedstuff has happened.
sucks being in a village without being able to get the new stuff. I only heard about the ultimate line a year ago.

I remember that before House of M, "Douglock" realized that there never was a "Douglock," that he was just Warlock with Doug's memories, pretending to be Doug. He freaked out a bit, kept the Doug-form but stopped trying to pretend that he was once human, and became more comfortable with his Phalanx nature. Of course, in order for all of this to happen, the Red Skull had to abuse him and use his technologies to almost take over Shield, but everything turned out alright in the end.
I think the new Warlock had a cape.

Oh yeah I remember that issue. I used to get these special comics from my newsagents..they still print them in England. Its basically 3 issues in one. We are behind by 2 or 3 years(they only started the New Xmen run a year ago). I stopped getting them. I kinda wish I didnt.

We can get the proper issues but they usually sel them in comic shops down back alleys you dont want to go down..
