Aww! That was one of my favorite parts of the movie, too! I love your rendering of it.
I like how KW was sort of Max's big sister/mother figure during his stay on the island.

Very adorable pic. I love Judith in the movie.
Why is there sooo many people who hate Judith? Judith is more adorable & sexy. DYK the character named The Bull is actually named Daniel The Bull & that he's me.
Please read my true story about it.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but every Gen Xer and beyond knows this special scene. Jay, you really did Maurice Sendack justice.
Great Job!

This is so cute and I love the cartoony style you have.
KW really gave off a very motherly aura. She was the only one in the movie I felt secure in believing wouldn't snap and attack Max. xD
But yes, well done. Well done.

I keep worrying that during one showing, Judith might snap more so than usual, and carry off an entire theater row for dinner.

She was the scariest of the wild things, even more so than when Carol freaks out on Max towards the end!

The technique and the life in each of these chars is so beautiful~ It brings me a mix of joyful childhood reminiscence and the desire to paint with my poor neglected watercolours (: I love this.

Believe me, good movies have really fallen behind on US! Besides Watchmen and now Where The Wild Things Are, I'd say good movies are few and far between these days!

Indeed.
Hopefully, as I was telling a friend, this year was kinda that generation that greatness skips over 'cause we've got some good-looking stuff coming next year, just like '08.
I'm psyched for Avatar, too.
