Description
Aaaand another piece featuring Koshka (getting quite a collection now)Postmortem... another day, another guy that knew something but didn't want to share. Oh he did, mind you, but just not right away; and by the looks of things, that was the last time too.

*sigh* seeing this, I don't understand why they won't give us girls a decent female avatar in the splinter Cell games.
I WAS secretly hoping for Sara to be the coop partner in blacklist... instead we got a black guy. Why not a black woman at least? XD

*ahem* What I meant to say: Awesome! I love your work. I love the character. Do you do commissions?

I know, right? While my affinity for the fairer of commandos is patent in my work, I would have to object to Sarah of all people joining Echelon in a field agent capacity; I don't think she's agent material. But hey, maybe she would surprise me, I mean, if she takes after her old man... That said, I would dearly love to see Ubisoft, or rather the majority of AAA productions, to dislodge their head from their rear most sphincter and create a few standards to ensure equal representation of everyone.
Not to mention the creative potential in crafting awesome characters; I refuse to believe any self respecting designer actually wants to recreate the recreated created. That is not creative, and on account of design being intrinsic to creation, designers of all trades are stuck in the industry like land-locked ships, forced to slave after the John-Rambo machine till death do them part. And looking at the current state of affairs, death is already doing them part.
But I'm really not all that cynical; there is a steady flow of original games coming onto the market, featuring interesting characters, both male and female, with core mechanics more innovative than point-and-shoot. But where are my manners; thank you for you comment, I very much love this character too. Unfortunately I find myself much to busy to attempt commissions; I sketch concepts on occasion, but I've been primarily focusing on the growth of my writing prowess of late, and applying them to an Indie project.
For now, I bid thee farewell.

Ah well, see... I never saw Sarah as a third/fourth/fifth echelon field agent, but as we all know, Sam has not ALWAYS worked for the government.
I was actually thinking of a scenario where they have little choice but to work together.
That said, She would obviously not have Sam's training. While Sam is clearly getting older...
What I was hoping to see was a cooperative game with two vastly different characters.
Think SvM Classic...
Sarah is the "Spy": Nimble, lightweight, fast... but non lethal.
Sam is the "Merc": Slow, clunky, heavy... but I dare you to move in front of his barrel.
I would also like to mention that another game by Ubisoft, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, allowed the player free choice over their Avatar's gender, and even had a few faces to chose from. So it's clear that the company is not appalled by that idea in general.
About creating new characters... Give me a year or two to finish my book.

thx
Took me a while to get the reflection right, but it was definitely worth it.

somehow I think all the interrogations regardless of their results takes something from her with each round. leaving them alive or killing them - I still think the ghosts of her targets are always with her. I'm basing this mostly on what I got from several games as Sam Fisher and the few times as one of the co-op characters including the last pair in Archer/Kestrel.
the art here certainly lends the image of her seeing the wear/tear on herself in her reflection.

Yeah, indeed.
I think she is a little haunted by how far she let's herself go to get what is needed.

It evokes a similar feeling as watching break the mirror in Double Agent when he literally goes down hill after being told Sarah is dead, which in retrospect turned out to be a deception meant to make Sam appear to be the mess he turned into after being pulled out of Iceland. It was painful and sincere to see this guy suffer like this. Lambert had the best of intentions, but then it still hurts anyway.
The deception ran both ways as Sarah thought he was dead too.
So yes I'm seeing this is as one would imagine similar incidents in her past.

Yeah, there's definitely something about mirrors.
I've considered doing an alternate version of this render, and have her reflection be like another world, or rather herself, but "under the armor" so to speak.
One of the pillars of Koshka's character is that she has a few scars; psychological more than physical. But she sorta hides it; she's the only one that really sees the toll of it all. I think deep down her attitude leans more towards acceptance than conflict. She's content with who she has become, but at times her missions require her to fracture her code, and that's what get's to her. She has to become what she is fighting to succeed, but afterwards she wonders if that was the only way.

The emotional/psychological/moral ambiguity of her line of work. She does as you say strike me at being at ease with what she has become, but she still questions the ways in which she goes about doing her job.
