Description
The Vapix Class minisub was used by Vulpesant infiltration and espionage squads to sneak upriver and into enemy harbors. It carried only two torpedoes, or four sub-surface mines, but was a relatively dangerous threat to Venrock shipping and submarines alike. The small submarine could evade enemy patrols and was capable of sinking at least two vessels before retreating. It was also used to deliver commando squads to Venrock bases, and even boarding parties to surface ships and rigs.The Vapix carried a crew of three; a captain and two engineers, and could carry at least twelve fully equipped commandos. It could dock with Kanoosh Class submarines, and most other Vulpesant surface vessels equipped to be submarine tenders.

I am new to Sketchup. Could you share some tips/tutorials/links on how you got the smooth shape of the body?

Sure, It was created in sections and then intersected together. The basic hull was created as a profile, the pulled into a 3d shape, and then the ends were tapered using the scale tool. I could whip up a basic tutorial if you wanted. Also, if you select the edges and then in the "entity info" box check off "smooth" and "soft" it'll soften the edges for you.

*nods* A clever looking design. So the shroud around the prop acts as the rydder? Doesn't seem to be able to move far enough to give the thing good maneuverability. And a second linkage arm on the other side of the hull would seem to be a good idea as well. But +1 for a really great looking design though.
Cheers!

It can pivot about 45 degrees in each direction, which would give it a decent amount of maneuverability, I think.

*nods* Just thinking/posting. Oh, most mini subs were actually meant for two way missions. The problem was usually;
A) The technology of the day was still pretty primitive, even in the larger 'normal' sized subs.
B) Some one trying to sink their little metal asses!
Loving your stuff!
Cheers!

Or a miniature submarine of my own design. This isn't intended to be disposable, or used for suicide missions.
