Though one thing I struggle with is how much to keep mysterious and how much is actually usefl and interesting to learn?

Huh, i get the same feeling too. I created a Red stone, a mysterious one that has great magic, but i couldn't think of WHERE it came from. And how it's studied, like what it holds. That started this. So yeah, i'm in a bit of a loop. I could say this though, you're world is full of magic, and that nighmare beast seemed to came from somewhere else.
Out of no where, but usually when it comes down to movies or shall i say that comic of yours... H'mmm have you thought about....worm hole mysteries? Or a crisis, that happened years ago with you're dragons, and the other side like in a dimension or something has been coming over to their world. Or there's a secret hideout to go to? Have you thought about those? Or this story just randomly...came to you're head?

But I know that the eclipse demon appears because of the eclipse.

Aesk, started it. He created the eclipse that woke the monster up from it's beauty sleep XD

So far in my mind it was attracted to Aesk's light and it wants to get rid of it.

H'mmm...this is where it gets tricky. I'd say that the reason, why the monster wan'ts to take away his light because darkness will fade when shined on. Sooo, maybe when he get's attack by the sword made out of light and magic, every hit he will take damage over time. But it's still not enough. If you give a core that is...maybe INSIDE the monsters chest, would be the occasional weak spot.
Β Or in his eyes because that's where most of his energy is coming from. Because there seems to be a core inside. It just needs to be opened, like a "treasure trove" and destroy the weak spot. And that's fighting the fear. You know the saying of looking at it in the eye? Well...when Aesk first get's defeated, he'll then need to come up with a plan. To put more of a in deph, story of the the monster. And figuring out how he can defeat him. And at the end, maybe try to make him, shine a light into the creatures eyes by mistake at first...like i'm thinking the creature get's really close to him, and he's sick of the creature taunting him, and before the creature hit's him Aesk by "Mistake" The first time "Unlocking" a new power kind of thing ( please be with me)- affects the monster in the eyes, it's like looking into the sun. Then, he notices a "Weakspot" the eyes.
What do you think?

Oooh very good idea! Thank you for the time and creativity you put into it! I actually do have an idea for the end of the fight though it's a bit more of Aesk panicking at the last second and his power amps up to help him. XP not very epic but this is just his first fight so there will be more. XD

Omg JB the last panel is so incredible. All the colors that are used to make the effects of aeskhari light powers are beautiful. Also how it bounces off his skin is amazing. Also so many lovely shades of green. Spectacular job my friend

Thank you so much. I'm really glad it came out looking good. working out the effects for his light powers (needs a good name still) was pretty tough espcially when working with traditional markers and stuff. And yes this was first time we get to see actual green plantlife in this comic! XD But I'm really glad the last panel managed to capture the feeling of wonder.

Spirit light is definitely a cool name! I'm not really sure if it would fit him though since he's not actually a spirit he's just a flesh and blood dragon.
