Note the call-outs here. I consider myself a fan of this bridge layout as well (In absence of the one we have established). How about something like that weapons and defense station? In any bridge scenario, my preference would be to use the TOS chairs with the accompanying palette if possible. Also, that CONN chair is reminiscent of the P2 concept art and I do like the look of it.

Just going to leave this here.

I'm doing a slightly modified version of the wall consoles so it has a feel of TMP but is rougher, like a first draft that hasn't been finalized yet. Yes, I'm actually modeling the stand up stations for this.

Ohhh I like that.... That palette is really looking sharper by the day!

Only have the viewscreen and weapons console to model along with some updates to the ceiling parts to make them smoother. Debating on whether or not to model the actual controls or go the texture route again. Probably going to do the rough raised mesh parts and put the textures over the top of those. Might be easier and cut down on the mesh creep.

Will the console surfaces have the matte with semi-gloss control panels ala the color palette graphic?

The more I plug away at it the more I want to re-visit the Challenger bridge (it launches in my AU JUST before the Enterprise slides in for her full refit so it's not TMP but not TOS either) and this is really starting to grow on me. Plus I'm re-vamping the mesh as I go since I borrowed this bridge from parts JamesJab had shared.

Well, you can count on my input on the Challenger project wherever it is needed I'd be interested in hearing more about it.

I would say this approach to the bridge, combined with the uniform concepts and field equipment, represents a clear intent to hybridize both Phase II direction with TMP execution, which is exactly what I had hoped for. We cannot return to 1975 and present Phase II as it *might* have been intended in full, nor do I wish to follow the direction TMP took with it's short-lived aesthetic and tone, thus mashing all of the elements together.

Challenger is KIND of what you're doing with Phase II, only instead of just developing the hybrid tech I'm planning on telling some stories using it as a kind of graphic novel/comic when I get all my sets built. I have a bad habit of bouncing around as my muse leads me to various modeling projects. Probably why this is my hobby and not my job lol

Then we seem to be on the same wave length as to what we want to do with this art I would love to present some regular Phase 2 comic/graphic stories as well. They would serve well as storyboards for audioworks too.

*nod nod* I wouldn't be opposed to helping out with them as time permits.

OK, confession time... I DESPISE the weapons/tactical console in TMP and Phase II. It looks so TACKED on. Ugh. I'm probably going to pop in a regular station there. lol

We could go the TOS route and slave weapons to the Helm console.

I'm actually considering doing a sort of hybrid console and wall emplacement like the back of the Reliant bridge had only try to fit it in more like part of that side of the bridge.

Still have that gaping console hole on the bridge though. What I'd done with the other bridge was combined Security and Weapons into one console (SecWep) and then gave the XO their own console to muck about with. Who know, maybe I'll have a brillant idea while I'm working on these that doesn't involve creating a bulbous eyesore on the bridge. lol
