Description *sigh of relief* Finally finished this! Tis 's request for getting my 2000th pageview. Man that was a while ago...I'm so slow!

*sniffles* Okay, I'm sober now. Sorta. Where was I? Um, yeah! Here's her request! First off, I got the background from a photo of a New-York-train-station-festival-somethin g. Here's the original photo: [link]
I didn't take this photo if anyone's wondering, not sure who did either, just found it on google search. I did edit it with filters to get this effect. Still not happy with it. *sighs* but I did like that upper window...

I was also at a loss on how to shade the figures. In the end I came up with two light sources: One from the top and one from the right-hand side of the pic. Not that completely accurate, but I was at my wits end with it. ;_;
I hope Zombielily doesn't mind my putting a lily on ZL's pants. I couldn't stop myself. I had to do something with her pants! wah, tis hard making jeans!

I'm just happy to finally be able to post this pic! I had finished it a few days ago, but something kept coming up that prevented me from finalizing it or just merging all them layers or just shrinking it for web view and gaaaah! *slams door and locks the outside world out* Damn, that was annoying!! Thank you GOD! I finally finished it and posted it! *spits at her door*

JB is feeling utterly neurotic from lack of sleep and good health, and having too much stress. Do not mind her sudden short circuit. She will now proceed to move furniture behind door, hit the much needed ibuprofen and the sack and go to sleep.

really? Squeeeeee! Thank you! I know a lotta folks don't approve of using photographs to fill up one's picture, but this urban setting was too cool to pass up. I can't do architecture very well, but I really wanted these characters in some dark urban setting since their character design gave me that impression. I feel like I cheated by not making my own background, so I tried photomanipulating it as much as possible to make it fit with these figures by using several filters and taking out some details that were in there.

But I think the real challenge lay in making the figures fit with the background. ;; My lighting sources were limited on the figures, so I had to invent a second one to the side so one could see them clearer than if it was just one light source from the roof windows. Otherwise, the shadows would've covered the figures completely. And it would've sucked majorly if in the end, the main attraction to the pic was the background and not the figures. So yeah, I had to try some new lighting/coloring techniques in order to make them equally interesting. I'm super relieved that the one thing most people noticed and liked was the fabrics and textures I did on the figures. Phew...dodged the bullet there.

I dont mind AT ALL that you put a Lily on ZL's pants, heck, her names Lily, duuuuh You say its hard to make jeans, and I agree fully, but you do a REALLY awesome job in making jeans in my opinion.

I cant get over how awesome there hair and eyes look! There eyes are so shiney! And there hair looks so..well the whole thing kinda has that 3D look to it in a way. Im really digging the shading in there lips and hands too, I know that might sound weird, but I do. They almost real, its kinda scary to think that they would be running around town or something to be honest, but, besides the point, they look really cool

I mean, this is really amazing, you shaded even ZL's nails, and Jack's earings o_o not that, thats a bad thing or anything, I mean, its really awesome how you went and did all of that.

I really love how you coloured there outfits, sweaters, I agree with the one girl up there saying the jacket looks real, it looks fuzzy, almost wooly <3

You did an awesome job selecting the backround too, the window, the window is pro. Thats a really nice window! ....sorry Im being...stupid o_o;

lol, yeah, after I colored it, it had occured to me that duh, lily is part of her name. ahhhhh, I'm an airhead. Anyways, YAY! I'm so happy you like it. Thank you so much! Yesh, them jeans were a pain cuz it took me forever to get the look I wanted.

Squee! yesh, their hair and coloring of skin was probably what I liked best although I was unhappy and unsure of whether the lighting on them worked. Ah well, it's one of those thing where you know it's not exactly correct, but you like it anyways. tis not weird, to like little details. I love little interesting details. heh, heh, yesh, they're REAL and they're hiding outside your window.

Yeah, i was going for that vintage wooly look on ZL's long sweater. The reference pic I used had the model's sweater tan colored and made of a smoother fabric (kinda preppy looking). So, I colored it dark gray here and after shading it, I used the filter "noise" and made it monochromatic then blured it, giving it that fuzzy look. X3 Yay for photoshop!

Hey! I love that window and whatever other architecture is beneath it. Nothing wrong with liking a window. I really suck at architecture but I really wanted to put them in a sorta dark urban setting. And I had found some an anime artist that used photographs but edited them tons before using them on his work (otherwise, it'd look bad having a realistic background behind a cartoon character). So I chanced it and went on google searching for photographs. Found several I liked, but this just seemed right for these two. I'm happy you liked it. That's enough thanks for me. So now I say thank you for your kind words!

'HOLY SHIT!' was my first reaction when i saw this. i swear to god, you're the BEST artist i've EVER seen. hell, best artist i've ever had to pleasure to become friends with.
okay, to review this. agian, holy shit. i saw the lineart in your preview book, but DAMN, i NEVER thought i'd be half of this. *pulls out a pad of paper* *muttering to self* note to self, NEVER underestimate jbram AGAIN *underlines it five times*
anyway. wow. when i saw the lineart, i was thinking you wouldn't put a background, cuz i couldn't think of anything. but you did. and did a great job. it fits in so well with the people. who are just phenomanal. i love the lily on her pants. and her coat. i want her coat. and her hair. nice hair tip dying. looks real. hell, everything looks real. this is just awesome! i feel like i'm looking a photo of two people. with the shading and the position and the clothing wrinkles and what not. why are you so good? some people have all the luck. anyway, i LOVE THIS!!!!!!
i couldn't wait yo see the lineart colored, and i dunno about everyone else (though someone'd have to be an idiot not to love it) but it was sure worth the wait. yay for jbram!
