Description
Man, I'm on a roll with the underwater stuff this week...After much consideration, I finally have a workable concept for three of the most oft-requested characters in the Underwater Babes of Toontown series - Babs Bunny, Fifi la Fume, and Shirley the Loon from "Tiny Toon Adventures"! I began thinking about Bob Clampett's 1944 Merrie Melodie "Hare Ribbin'", wherein Bugs Bunny and the Mad Russian dog spend more than half the cartoon underwater in a lake, with no difficulty breathing or even speaking. I also realized that breathing never seems to be much of an issue in any of the underwater scenes I've seen in the classic Looney Tunes...maybe breathing underwater is a skill that only the best cartoon characters know.
So here's Babs, Fifi, and Shirley in the Acme Looniversity swimming pool, working on their homework project for Cartoon Physics 101 - learning how to breathe underwater. Unfortunately, it isn't going too well at the moment since all three girls are still blowing bubbles (thereby insinuating that they're exhaling air and not water), but practice makes perfect, as they say.

what a concept... certainly most of us never realize they are all aiming to be cartoons, the theme song states clearly they are earning their Toon Degree, there is not much into the clases they take except for the episode animaniacs where they are working on a class project
I wonder what other interesting clases they have to pass to become true Toons, its very very interesting indeed

So you think cartoon characters can actually breathe underwater? Me on the other hand, I'm not so sure. Maybe this clip ought to change your mind [link]

I find this hard to comprehend, why would the cartoons learn the rules if they're gonna break the rules?
Interesting idea

Well, breathing water has been tried by real animals, too. There have been experiments to enable animals like mice to breathe underwater.
Unfortunantly, they died soon after switching back to air, as lung damage had taken place. A lot of work has to be done -and it may be an insurmountable obstacle.

Nah, I like to drop hints about this series. For one thing, the next character I intend to spotlight is Gadget Hackwrench from "Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers" - I understand she's got something of a fanbase 'round here.

Definitely a skill I think Shirley would excel at seeing her mediating nature. She looks pretty comfortable in this environment. If anybody looks like they may have a lil' difficulty, it be Fifi, but I think she's just stylin'. Awesome work.

Ooohh, I like that one!
Babs and Fifi are the of the cutest furry variety!
Unfortunately, I never got to watch the show on TV. All I have is the Tiny Toon Vacation movie that passes from time to time around here.
And I also like the "story" you made behind the piece. This goes in the Favs!
Thanks!
