Here's a rarely-seen angle of the MST3K crew. I cheated Crow a little bit taller than he really is so that it'd match up with the real shadowrama, but other than that, I'm proud of how this one came out. I've tried to draw this thing a ton of times before, but it never came out right until now for some reason.100th deviation! Woohoo!

I know the real reason Joel/Mike carried Servo into the theatres was because the bots' puppeteers were already there, but did they ever give an "in character" reason for why he didn't just enter normally?
I've heard fanfics come up with the idea that there was probably some sort of air-vent at the theatre entrance his hovering couldn't cross, but fanfics aren't exactly canon...

The air vent thing actually was mentioned in the show. In "The Brain That Wouldn't Die", Mike and Crow enter the theater, but Crow says Mike has to carry Servo over the vent 'cause his hoverskirt won't work over it. ("I've never been so humiliated in my life", Servo says.)

I see. I'd heard the vent thing brought up in fanworks before (most commonly the fanfic riffings of Megane 6.7), but couldn't recall ever hearing about an "official" reason. Thanks.

For some reason, it's weird to me imagining Crow with legs.

We've seen 'em before - I think the first time was in "Jungle Goddess" when Crow and Servo hoist Joel up out of the hole he cut in the floor.

Quick question: I know I don't have any reason to doubt you, since I haven't seen an episode where we see Crow's legs, but is that what they look like? I'm hoping to draw him myself, you see.

It's a rough approximation. There's no set design for them, since they're seen so rarely, but they're pretty much the same as his arms except without the black padding.
If you want more reference, some episodes where Crow's legs are visible are 203 "Jungle Goddess", 208 "Lost Continent", 303 "Pod People", 508 "Operation Double 007", 623 "The Amazing Transparent Man", and (perhaps most famously) 1002 "The Girl in Gold Boots".

Only as part of the opening sequence, I think. He does nod on occasion, though, and he cried at the end of 620 "Danger! Death Ray!"

Hnn, I never figured Servo would be hovering in his seat, then again as you pointed out there are some height differences between the real thing and the silouettes. Joel doesn't seem all that excited to be there though (then again, with his fate who could blame him).

Actually, that's Cambot's cord (as seen in the Season 2-5 Joel-era opening sequence - being the show's camera, Cambot didn't appear on screen very often).
