Duo Anime Police Officer Work; Paper & Pencil and Photoshop COLOR.

An unexpected Trooper drops in on Miyuki as she is preparing surveillance gear since Nene went out for food. The Trooper tapped his helmet at her greeting, and so it was easy to grab her as she approached to check his helmet speaker system for malfunction and put her out with a chloro-cloth.

After binding her to the pole and clamping tape over her mouth, he then lied in wait for Nene to come back...she tried to untie Miyuki in a panic when she saw her, but the Trooper was quick enough to pull her away before she could loosen Miyuki's ropes and hold her down on the mattress. Keeping her from squirming was accomplished by tying her wrists and ankles, and drawing her legs up to her hands in a hogtie essentially ended any hope of her escape, and with the last knot pulled tight, only the gag and then the transponder signalling success remained to be done. This Rogue Trooper was well trained for the mission...

I was always pleased at how the lineart for this one went, and with my ever improving [I hope] photoshop skills this just looks even better now!

The items of note:

Miyuki Kobayakawa: Too bad this never happened in the Anime!!! I slightly altered her standard uniform, but stayed with the colors lifted from references and screenshots. I added part of her uniform vest on the left side, and also fleshed out the medallion on the right, but but the bulk of my focus was on her eyes and hair. I used some highlights [unusual for me] for the hair, and needed a few attempts on the eyes...'You're Under Arrest' has a very detailed highlight pattern, but it was worth the effort. I just purchased a Manga drawing book that concentrates on clothing folds and wrinkles, and my shading should reflect that.

Nene Romanova: I sure don't remember this kind of thing in 'Bubblegum Crisis' either, although I think Nene by far is the easiest bondagette to receive "the treatment". I adjusted her hair, medallion, skirt, and legs from the sketch, then did the flats. I again used highlighting for the hair, which is an odd color but it really looks accurate IMHO. I also felt that perhaps this is one of the few times I can get away with an expression of one eye open, and so I tried it...it took me a bunch of tries to position the eye correctly, and it may still be off, but I think it is close enough. I also redrew the mouth. I also couldn't help but using a pattern stamp to simulate her pantyhose. Nene's outfit in this work is a combination of her work blues and her whites, so any of you purists out there cut me some slack.

ADP Trooper: I did the most shading on him...also did a lot of adjusting on his left arm to try and make it look a bit more realistic from that angle. I went a little nuts on the pattern stamping for his outfit, and I know the "gun" seems like it is magically sticking to his hip, but I am sure he has a magnetized holster or something more creatively futuristic than that. I decided to keep the goggle lenses bright red for sinister reasons. I also fleshed out the ID badge to a familiar face as well.

The scene: I tried to use more shading than I usually do, as a couple artists here on dA have pointed out to me that my colorings look a little flat. I still think this one is light on the shading, but it is better than my others. Plus I darkened the hue of the shading so that the contrast would be greater...I think it works. I relied very heavily on pattern stamping this time, as I kept finding great uses for them, such as the top of the mattress on the floor. I didn't really know what else to do with the background, since it was kind of bland, but a fellow dA artist suggested I darken things up in the back, if not overall as well. That seems to help a little bit.

I know, I know, WHERE ARE THE HANDCUFFS??? I don't like guaranteed 100% helplessness such as cuffs, so these two ladies will have to wait until they get rescued and back to their own bedrooms to pull those out again
