010D: Ride of choice
Draw your transportation in RL, or transportation in dreams. It could be anything... and the best part would be you sitting on it.

Ok so since I was a kid I always wanted to be a giant robot pilot. So If I had to draw my ride, this would be it.

Oh, now THIS is totally sweet. I'm so very jealous of your robotic drawing skills

Do you have any wip shots? I'm just really curious as to where you start on a drawing as complex as this. Perspective on robots always get me too.

Thanks again!

No wip shots, sorry. I'll try and do another for you with wip shots.
The design is not mine either. Just a quick redraw.

Now, don't get me wrong, most of my work I try to keep original.
Like my Android 773L [link] or my old "Mecha" [link]

My "tech head" [link] was just a little doodle I did and then later redrew.

"Tech Hand" [link] was done more in the same fashion of this peice, I had an anatomy book that I was working from to help with the proportions, and then created the rest over top of it.

I still have problems with perspective and dynamic poses, but I usually try to find some kind of reference photo in a similar pose to help.

This was actually something that was made from Lego (don't remember who or I'd give credit for the creativity where due).

I just took some creative liberties with the design, tried to make it not look like it was lego.

Basically I just found something I liked and redrew the whole thing by hand (pencil & ball point pen), making a few modifications along the way. Then did a quick color in photoshop. I had thought of doing a fully vectorized version, but I'm happy the way this came out. About 2 and a half hours total. Vectorizing it would have taken several more hours, but might be worth a try just to brush up on the tecnique.

Hope that helps.
