Description
Yes, these sunbeams were gone just a few minutes later this morning, as a big cloud bank moved in and hid the sun for nearly all day. So I had been just in time.Taken near the Horneboeg Heath at Hilversum/The Netherlands.

Just incredible! Just look at those beams..
And you're so lucky to capture such beautiful views and be here at that time!

The Nikkor 18-200 mm. It is doing very well, but did cost a lot of money, I am afraid.

I love all your sunbeams, why do I never see sunbeams am I not in a woody place at the right time of day ?? or do we just not get enough sun in Ireland
(probably both)

You should have sun and mist over there, I guess. But you must also have a dark background from trees through which the sun passes. That will probably be lacking in Ireland. A great pity.

Is time of day a factor ?? I dont think I have ever even SEEN beams through trees here let alone had opportunity to photograph them.

Yes, time of day certainly is a factor. It happens only in the morning. Once the sun has sucked up the mist and gets up high in the sky, the beams are gone.

Stunning sunbeams here! Please may I use this as a reference for an attempt at watercolour work? (I haven't a clue whether I know how to produce sun-beams through woods, but... I'd like to try!)

Take care,

Your forest photos are just divine. I wish I had somewhere as beautiful near me to take shots.
Sub tropics means green, green and more green forests - we never get the lovely colours ...

You have to find the beauty of each area, I would dare to suggest. Many thanks for your appreciation of my stuff here.
